This is a short hike with some incline. Great views. The falls were really flowing the day we were there.

I did some research looking for a trail that would have a waterfall and was excited to find this trail. The information I found online led me to believe there would be water, even in July, but there was none at all, even though there had been a couple of summer storms in the past couple of days. We drove over an hour and a half (including the last 3 miles on unpaved gravel road) to hike this trail, so to find dry rock at the end was a letdown.
On the other hand, most of the trail is wide, with a couple of narrower spots, and the slopes are fairly gentle, though there are a few areas with stairs. However, I wouldn't recommend bringing any seniors along for the hike. The trail is along the edge of a slope (mostly without railing) that overlooks a pretty view of Dixie National Forest, a sea of green trees, islands of grass, and occasional cabins in the distance. Because of the high elevation, it's brisk, even during the hot summer, but after hiking for a few minutes you warm up.

Last minute turn into Duck Creek Village, take a safe dirt road and you are there, (by the way there is tons of trails there as well) the trail is very rocky and not very safe but the views are gorgeous! 1.2 miles in and out. Waterfall dependent on Lake Navajo levels.

The hike is about 1.5 miles in and back. It meanders through lovely shaded woods, along some cliffs with gorgeous scenery of Zion and the hills, and takes you up and down a few stairs, til you end up at the falls. It was a nice way to start our day. The falls were more like a drain spout than a cascade, but pleasant all the same. It was the end of summer.

This hike is only 1.2 miles with very little elevation gain (137ft). It is an out & back and can be slippery in the early morning due to frost. Our trekking poles came in handy. We hiked early and missed the crowds...just a few hikers on the trail & we avoided the heat of the day. Water flow is low this time of year. I imagine in the late spring with the snow melt, Cascade Falls must really be a spectacle. At any rate, the views of Zion NP in the distance are dramatic and the sandstone walls radiate lovely colors.

This hike was awesome! It was a little hot in August but still very fun! The views are amazing. This hike is pretty easy. There are some stairs & some uphill walks. Lots of dogs & children. It’s a bit crowded in some spots for pictures but overall I had a great time & I definitely recommend this hike if you are in the area.

The trail is short and fairly easy to hike. The view is up close to the water, but the viewing platform is small so go early, before 10 AM and miss the crowds.

I usually don't post negative reviews but I must! First of all, I've read MANY reviews saying it's good and safe for kids, I disagree!!! NOT SAFE FOR KIDS!!! Steep edges with no barriers for children, and there is no room to pass if people are coming in the opposite direction. The place was overcrowded, the narrow trail didn't allow social distancing to be practiced, and the drive to get there is a long dirt road, very dissatisfied. We had an incident on the trail, one of the people in our group almost fell down, very unpleasant experience.

Finding this trail head was easy enough and the hike was moderately difficult. There were only a couple of spots that got the heart pumping. Plenty of picture taking opportunities along the trail of the surrounding vistas. There is a platform that overlooks the actual falls. Gives you an up close view. We were there from about 11:00am to 12:30 pm and there were very few hikers on the trail. But when we were leaving the parking area was jammed.

Hi does anyone know if the Cascade Falls Trail is open at all on February 22 or 23rd 2020? Thanks in advance!

I’m sorry I don’t. The danger is that part of the trail could be icy. There were patches back inOctober.

We will be in cedar city around sept 14-16. How do you get to this trail? Is it a dry walk or is there water to wade in? How long of a trail is it?

There is a ranger station just as you turn off to go into the area where there are several opportunities for hikes. The drive to the parking for the trailhead is mostly gravel and dirt so if it has rained, there may be mud. The trail is man made and has been mostly well groomed. In some spots there are rock steps but mostly it is soft dirt. The trail is probably 4-5 feet wide but no railings for most of the walk. It took us about 20 mins to walk into where the falls were. There's a platform to observe the falls and it has high railings all the way around but children still need close attention if you are taking them.

How to get there

First, get yourself to Navajo Lake, south of Highway 14. You will be on a dirt road once you leave the highway, on the east side of the lake. When the dirt road splits, don't turn west to go along the lake shore, but keep going south, staying on the main dirt road. You will travel 1/2 mile or so to a large open meadow, where you reach a T in the road. Turn west and follow the road to the very end, where you will find a parking area and few signs. The trail begins at the northwest corner of the parking area!

wondering about the condition of the waterfalls right now?
Is there light, moderate or heavy flow?
Heading to Utah next week and looking for destination stops.
Thanks.
Gordy.
