The Laguna de Apoyo has to be one of the most spectacular places in all of Nicaragua and your appreciation of it is of course,, deeply appreciated!

Our resort has gone through some incredible changes over the last few years. From its inaugural opening in 2006 until the closure in July, 2008 only two short years later, the hotel was a gem that became tarnished to the point of not being recognizable. Then, in 2009, came a new management concept and a special financial committment from the various owners of all the individual villas that make up the hotel.

The result was an incredible reinvestment in the idea that has now become The Villas at Apoyo. The hotel is now a 'Must See" destination in one of the most pristine lakes in Central America. We still make mistakes and we still have room for improvement, but it is a work in progress in a dense jungle and we are working closely with the inviroment and the many troups of Howler Monkeys that roam our 40 acres all day long!

Thank you for your kind comments and thank you for keeping me out of trouble with our chef by not giving away the recipe of our mango pie! It is not for sale ! Unless you buy it a piece at a time at The Grill Poolside Restaurant ! But remember that dessert is seasonal and you might not get it when you come back, and I do hope you'll come back - even if we dont' have it on the menu!

Thank you for your acknowledgement! The Villas have gone through a tremendous change in the last few years with new managment, renovations and a completely different concept . All those changes so suddenly has propelled us into the local spot light and here in Nicaragua, it is a sink or swim situation and we have been swimming against the current for many, many years. However, with all that we have worked at, the current is weakening and the swimming has become easier. Your comments are part of the current, either good or bad and the good ones act like life preservers and hold us up out of the water to guarantee us another full breath of fresh air.
