【IMPRESSIONS】I made a Reservation by phone for Namahage folk learning course at Denshokan a few days ago, but I arrived early, so I had it changed at the counter.
First, watch and study the movie "A Night in Namahage" at Namahagekan. After that, you can have a commemorative photo taken with "Narikiri Namahage."
There is also a demonstration of mask making, and here I bought a knife amulets. I hang it on my front door.
It is the main Namahage folk learning course, but the venue is a house with straw sprays in a separate building.
More than a dozen people were already seated, including two groups with children, who were already crying, "I want to go home."
The girls were fine, but both boys were crying. It was so loud it was hard to hear the questions, but this is also a sound effect??
Straw dropped by Namahage will be given as an amulet.
On my way home, I bought a “Babahela Ice 45 yen” parasol at the entrance of Namahagekan and ate it on the bench.
We had a good time.

This facility, which is also home to the Namahage Museum, allows you to enjoy conversations in the Akita dialect. The interior of the building appears to have been slightly renovated from an old house, which gives it quite a charm. The event features exchanges between the owner of the house and the Namahage in the Akita dialect, which even adults can enjoy. It's fun just to imagine that such events took place on a snowy New Year's Eve. It's also fun to listen to the story of "the origin of Namahage" explained by an older woman before the event begins.

Next to the Namahage Museum is the Oga Mayama Folklore Museum. Here you can actually see the Namahage that are passed down in the Mayama area. I think it's an essential visitor's guide when to Oga.
Namahage has been designated an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan, and is performed every year on the evening of New Year's Eve throughout almost the entire Oga Peninsula.
The demonstration began with the voice of a person called a Sakidachi, who asked the head of the house if it was okay to let the Namahage in. After this confirmation, two Namahage entered the house shouting "Woo!" In this way, the Namahage have solemnly passed down old traditions and customs.

「なまはげ」の実演、実演での会話のやり取りを聞くとなるほどと勉強になりました。
伝統的民俗行事である「なまはげ」ですが、実演を実際に見ると、子供への教育、集落における各家族に対してのコミュニケーションと繋がりの強さ、そして家族繋がりを示す行事であり、よくできている伝統的民俗行事だなと思いました。
なお、現在は衰退になりつつあるこの「なまはげ」伝統的民俗行事らしいですが、ぜひとも守り続けてほしいですね。個人的には観光としてだけでなく、実際のこのエリアの伝統的民俗行事として守り続けてほしいです。なんだか、大事なものを見たような気がしましたよ。

なまはげ館に付帯する、なまはげ実演のための施設です。なまはげ館を訪ねたら、観ない選択肢はありません。会場は、男鹿の伝統的な家屋で行われ、現地の方々が行う公演なので、正に、現地の本物のなまはげ。よって、迫力を感じないわけは有りません。そして、観客もＬ字型の座敷に座る出演者として楽しめます。特に子供さんは、泣く子にされてしまい、災禍をはらって貰える事、間違いでしょう。
公演時間は約２０分、開演時間の５～１０分前に伝承館の手前に並び、良い席を確保するのがお勧めです。

実際に毎年大晦日に行われている男鹿半島の真山地区の伝統行事です。実際に目の前で主人とのやり取りから始まりますが、方言の為ガイドブックを見なければほとんど意味が分かりません・・・
しかし、おおよその内容がその過程でわかってきますが、なまはげのしぐさ等が、子供にとってはきっと怖いものという事は身をもって理解できます。
画面で見る場合とは違って、迫力があり良い経験が出来ました。
所要時間は２０分程です。
