A star only for the young man's behavior at the ticket office. My 15-year-old son didn't want to come with us into the museum and sat on a bench OUT of the building - ticket office in the shade at a temperature of 37°. The unacceptable employee kicked him (what he was afraid I can't understand!!!!!!) and the kid was ashamed to talk and went and waited for us outside the car in the parking lot under the sun at 40° !!!!!!!!!!! UNACCEPTABLE TO WELCOME SUCH EMPLOYEES!!!!!! SURE HAS FINDED AND HAS DOED IT TO THE MINOR!!! It completely ruined our joy of going to such a beautiful place.

Excellent. It honors our country and history. Worth a visit. Amazing job. It has nothing to envy from foreign museums. Well done!

Excellent museum with wax figures, whose exhibits cover a large part of the events and heroes of Greek history, and especially of the revolution of 1821.

Where to start??? Words are not enough for my feelings regarding this museum.
I have travelled quite a lot around the world, visited many museums. Never, ever been more impressed by any as this museum and even much more impressed by its creator, the magnificent, humble artist, Pavlos Vrellis. Such a complex artist, sculptor, architect, historian, poem writer, builder… you name it, he had it all! Building such a masterpiece from scratch, by himself, in 12 years (starting at the age of 60!!!), is the work of a God! He is one of the reasons why Greeks should be proud to be Greeks and the reason I’m sorry I’m not one!
There shouldn’t be a child in Greece that does not visit this museum! It is a visit that will teach children more history in 2 hours than in years of school. Especially in these difficult times when we’re reminded that whoever doesn’t know history is bound to repeat it!
A piece of personal advice for visitors: please do yourselves (and your children) a favor and do a bit of a research prior to your visit to the museum. You’ll better understand what you see and you’ll also refresh your history knowledge. Their website (a history book in my opinion) is excellent for this purpose.
Greece owes Pavlos Vrellis a page in its history! Greece also owes Pavlos Vrellis museum of History full support (financial, promotion, etc), as this museum is one of the best “instruments” of education for the Hellenic people and not only. The insignificant entrance fee of 6 Eur I presume is set by the managers of the museum with the sole aim of giving access to everybody (who’s interested) to such a masterpiece, and also as a continuation of the creator’s philosophy “Rich is not the wealthy one but the giving one. I am rich myself, for I managed to offer Greeks this piece of work”.
Last, but not least, my warmest congratulations to Vrellis family for continuing the magnificent work of the departed, Pavlos Vrellis! It’s easily understandable that keeping open a museum every day of the year
(with a 6E entrance fee) is no easy job!

In my humble opinion this museum is *at least* on a par with Madame Tussauds. And I'm talking about the original "real" London museum as it was some 15 years ago, not the pop culture joke it's now become. Here, wax figures are almost always actors in a tableau of Greek history, from the 17th century (just before the War of Independance from the Ottoman empire) until and including WWII.
They are simply magnificent!
