My wife and I drove to Arthurs Seat, parked our car and walked the 1.8 kilometre circuit walk.
Chapmans Point is the first lookout of the Arthurs Seat Circuit Walk. A cairn with direction finder commemorates the pioneer Chapman family.
The views from this lookout are scenic.

Visited on Friday 14th February, well worth the short walk to the viewing area to get amazing views towards Sorrento and Port Phillip Bay.

There are many look outs on Arthur's Seat which provide slightly differing views. From one of these you can catch the cable car down. We were during the day when visibility was poor but it was a lot better at the sunset. Near here we found some mobs of Kangaroos at dusk which was thrilling. This was in the flat farmland behind the mount rather than on it though.

Chapmans Point is the first lookout below Arthurs Seat and there is a track from the point to the top although most pull over for the views. You get excellent views north and south along the easterly coast of Port Phillip Bay. The Dromana Granite Monument or Cairn is also historical and was erected at the time the road up to Arthurs Seat was opened in 1929. The Chapman family were pioneers in the area.
