Go here to volunteer auite frequently, lovely place! The staff are friendly and almost feel like family in some ways. The selection of animals is amazing and the vibe of the place is incredible. They do such good work for the animals they care for and need more support.

We visited Redgate for my hen weekend and it was such a different and unforgettable experience. Everyone there went above and beyond to make our day special. The animals were beautiful and well looked-after. I’ll definitely be recommending visiting to others.

Our little boy was being shielded so couldn’t go out anywhere public but loves animals. Red gate we’re absolutely amazing to us. They allowed us to come in when the place was closed and left us alone to go around and see the animals. Our son adored it and they were so, so good to us. I’m incredibly grateful.
The place is wonderful, they do an amazing job looking after the animals and it’s wonderful for children to see them close up, to be able to feed them and generally to be part of something so wonderful. They have lots of goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, geese, a turkey, cats, etc. It’s like being able to visit and play in a farmyard, brilliant for little ones.
And thank you so much for being so great to us

Kids love to see the rescued animals roaming about especially the cats and kittens which you can adopt. They are always grateful for donations of animal food, bedding etc

My other half and I recently adopted a beautiful, healthy kitten from here. Redgate took excellent care of her right up until we took her to her ‘forever home’. Redgate arranged her vaccinations, spayed her successfully and taught her to be totally litter tray trained before we adopted her.
Donna, Leah and Scott were all really helpful, friendly and informative on all our visits. Thanks guys!
Please ignore the 1 star reviews of this charity as they are pretty unfair. There appears to be some concern that home checks and criminal record checks are not carried out, but the truth will be that Redgate is a small charity and most probably cannot afford to pay for these.
Instead, Redgate still took extra care before allowing us to adopt a kitten suggesting that we visit at least 3 times so that they can get to know us before allowing us to adopt. We felt that they cared every step of the way in the process and were pretty clear that they reserved the right to refuse to let us adopt if they weren’t sure about something.
They are a small charity so really need the help and they do amazing work to help animals and re-home them. All animals seemed happy on our visits.
We would recommend Redgate for all animal adoptions and also just for a lovely day out wandering around the farm!

I am deeply concerned about the lack of honesty and the irresponsible way animals are rehomed. I presume they are so desperate to reduce costs that they lie about animals to get them rehomed as quickly as possible WITHOUT performing home checks.
I enquired about a cat that had lost a considerable amount of fur. They claimed she was over grooming due to a previously stressful environment. She came to me riddled with fleas yet the sanctuary claimed she'd been deflead. She is not overgrooming now that I have deflead her. The sanctuary was also advised that she would be moving into a home with existing pets so it was extremely irresponsible of them not to disclose her flea infestation which risked my current pets becoming infested.
I was told that this cat had been neutered by the previous owner and yet microchip records show that she is unneutered. It is a good job I have no male cats or I could have ended up with a house full of kittens.
The sanctuary told me that this cat was two years old and yet microchip records show she was born in 2014 and microchip per in 2015, making the cat FIVE years old, NOT 2yrs as told.
The fact that they also fail to do home checks or criminal record checks to ensure animals are not going to people guilty of crimes against animals is also another major welfare concern.
I wouldn't rehome another animal from this sanctuary. Thankfully the cat is doing well in my care.

Friendly helpful staff. Animals seemed happy and well cared for.
Lovely environment, goats, chickens, cats, kittens, fowls.. If you've got room in your home and your heart for a new family member and can give a pet a new start in life with a furever home, highly recommend a visit

We visited Redgate farm as we wanted to adopt a cat on arrival we were greeted by friendly staff who took us to look at the cats available.
The cats were all lovely and there living conditions were excellent with lots of blankets sofas and toys.
We fell in love with our cat and decided to reserve him.
The staff were very helpful and gave us good advice on how to settle our new cat in his new home.
I collected my cat the next day and again the staff were very helpful.
My kids enjoyed visiting the farm and looking at all of the different animals
I would definitely recommend Redgate and the amazing staff.

Just adopted a cat from Redgate Farm, the staff are very helpful and friendly with good knowledge about the cat we adopted. Redgate is great for a visit with young children as they have a wide selection of animals on site including ducks and turkeys, cats and goats, horses, chickens.
You dont need to buy a pet just adopt. Please visit and support this great cause.
