Great opportunity to get close to bees. The demos were top notch and got to see a queen bee and the option of having a young worker bee crawl along your hand for those who wanted it. Hosts were knowledgeable and friendly. Tried lots of different honey types and also a few other bee products (pollen and royal jelly) which were interesting but not as popular as the gold stuff for a reason. Glad we did this.

We had a fantastic experience ran by a very passionate and caring couple! It was great value for money in terms of experience provided, we learnt about the bees, got to try the suits on and learn about how the bees make their honey and how it’s harvested. We then got to try all the different honey from across the seasons on Kefalonia, amongst other products that the bees produced. We went back to the house and had a delicious lemonade and some honey treats, it was one of my favourite experience on the whole trip. Would really recommend!

What an amazing experience. I am bee and honey mad but have never done this before. This is a little piece of heaven, tucked away down a gravel drive amongst the olives and grapes. The knowledge, love and care shown to the whole process is awe inspiring. We had the privilege of taking one of the full frames, spinning it and tasting the fresh honey. It was a small group of 8, including a child with suits to fit everyone. We saw the bees first hand, watched bee dancing, pollen being put into the cells by the bees and the babies hatching. We could handle a bee if we wanted. After we'd made honey, refreshments were laid on which were home made and delicious. Fresh lemonade to wash it down. We tasted all the products and were able to buy them if we chose to. Highly recommended. 10 stars!!🐝🐝🐝

This is such a fascinating experience and we would highly recommend it. Thanissis is a bee keeper who truly loves and admires his bees. The information he imparts is truly amazing. You get to dress in bee keepers gear and actually experience things, not just hear about them. This experience is not aimed at getting you to buy their products at the end( obviously we bought some), but to help people understand how and why bees are important and to understand them. Highlight of our holiday. Thank you Thanissis and Ellen.

This was the highlight of our holiday. My husband wasn’t very keen initially when I booked this about 3 weeks before we travelled to Kefalonia but afterwards he was raving about it. Make sure you book in advance as they dont do tours every day and limit attendance to small groups.
It’s a bit of an odd place to find, up a dirt track. It looks like a car can’t get up there but just follow the signs and you will make it there OK in a car. We were emailed a google map link which took us to exactly the right place.
Eleni & Thanassis are amazing. They have looked after bees for over 20 years and are so knowledgeable and friendly.
We were met with home made lemonade (delicious) before starting the tour.
We were able to see the bees in their hives but also see how the honey is made. We learned so much. I was worried about being stung but bee suits were provided and I felt really safe at all times.
After this we were able to taste the honey and some honey products, then we made some wax candles to bring home.
Although you can also buy products there, there’s no pressure to do so.
We would highly recommend this, 3 hours well spent.

We were booked on a cruise and decided we wanted to do something different from the run of the mill excursions - hence booking this. We got a taxi from the cruise port - took only 10 mins. We were really warmly greeted by the hosts, Eleni and Thanassis. We were two in a party of seven. They initially offered us coffee/homemade lemonade - a lovely start - being taking us to look at the hives and explaining all about it. We learnt so much. We finished with some lovely local wine and homemade snacks - also not forgetting the honey tasting. Such a lovely couple and a worthy cause. I can't recommend this tour enough

We had an amazing morning ( my husband and sons (19 & 22) with Thanassis and Eleni and another family.
We had the opportunity to learn about honey bees, see them work in their hives, hold them, see how the honey is prepared for sale and taste some fabulous treats prepared by Eleni. We also made a momento to take home. Thanassis and Eleni are knowledgeable, warm, funny and friendly.
It was the highlight of my week. 😁

What is the postcode as the trip advisor map does not work and Google map also appears to not work??

There is not a postcode but where the road that leads to the hives is next to a cemetery. You take the road and at some point goes straight and right. You take the right all the way to the end. Do not be afraid is a bit narrow but you will end up to the house of Thanos and Eleni and the hives. Give them a call. Also from trip advisor if you click on show on map will give you an idea. Do not forget everything is a part of the adventure. I hope you will enjoy. Take care

The co ordinates that will take you very close are N38.115520 W20.528528. From these continue to drive along the dirt track, it is sign posted but not very well!

If I were you I would give a call as soon as possible, in order to plan you holidays better. Eleni usually picks up and she is very friendly and helpful. As said to my review is a unique experience and they are genuine people
