I lived in the schoolhouse opposite to the church when I moved to Norfolk in 1976, I'm not religious but every time I come to the area I always come back to Salle and visit the church. I'm at total peace here.

Totally amazing church in the middle of the Norfolk country side. You can see the tower as you leave Reepham. Its well worth a visit. Not as good as Cawston church but still really worth a look

Salle is not the easiest place to find if you don’t know the area. There is little else other than the church in this small village. The rewards of a visit to this church are manifold. It is not complete in terms of stained glass or screens or carving or paintings but there is ample of each to satisfy anyone with a passion for parish church architecture and atmosphere. Quality carvings in the choir - misericords and bench ends ( but don’t expect the same quality as Ripon, Manchester and Beverley) as well as on the roof for which binoculars are helpful - the medieval font cover and it’s lifting mechanisms at the west end is a fascinating feature. Superb acoustics and the sound of the clock beating in the background on quiet days - most days - really contributes to the restful atmosphere. There is a fifteenth century brass to the Boleyn family as well. Cawston and Great Walsingham two other churches which match the overall feel of Salle in a church - rich county.

You see the Church as you are driving. Such a lovely building. The interior is outstanding. The outside is also well kept.

A gigantic, isolated church with so much detail to explore it could justify a visit by itself. I'd recommend taking in neighbouring Cawston (currently undergoing renovations/alterations - March 2019) and Booton. Don't miss the chance of going to the private chapel in the NW corner, the seven sacrament font, medieval glass in several windows and the delightful woodwork high up in the nave roof

I live next to this church ,my grandchildren love going into this amazing church when ever they visit .my daughter got married here was beautiful for photos then on to near by whitwell and reepham st for wedding reception :)

A cathedral like building in the middle of nowhere. Open every day and with lots to see. Don’t miss the roof bosses in the tiny room over the north porch- there’s a Green Man amongst them.

There are more erudite reviews of this church than I can contribute (I was particularly interested to hear the Tallis singers recorded here) but if you appreciate church architecture this merits a visit. It is not the most beautiful of churches, in fact somewhat stark but that is compensated by its sheer scale. Presumably a "wool" church built in a time of prosperity (and population) when villages vied with each other to impress. There are similarities between this church and the St Peter and St Paul at nearby Heydon. I just wonder how the current congregation cope with maintenance costs, insurance etc....I wish them well.

When I visited Salle church previously I realised I would have to return with a bigger camera lens to photograph the angel roof. I was so glad that I did as I found it just as stunning as before. Outstanding!
