Hi, 1. It is safe for female to go alone - I also went there alone : ) 2. Public bus is cheap and convenient. It took you right to the park's bus stop. I took bus No. R5 (NT$30, 30 minutes) from Jiantan MRT station to Yangmingshan Bus Station. Then, you can hop on-off using the shuttle bus inside the park. On the way back, I ended my route at Grassland. From there, taking bus No. S5 is better. It will take you back to Jiantan MRT. 3. There is a map provided for tourists. Bus stop is quite easy to be located but remember to get off on time. Buses run only 1-way. If you miss the corect bus stop, it will waste time. Hope it is helpful.

It would depend on the weather on that day. If it rains too heavily, the walking trail becomes slippery. The advice is to bring rain gear as it often rains in the afternoon, and to take care on the slippery slopes. If there is a forecast of torrential rains or typhoon, it is recommended to keep off the mountains.

In the park you can watch out for the Elegant Five-lined skink (with a blue tail), Yellow mouthed Japalura, Indian Forest skink and butterflies. On the northern slope of Mt Qixing, frequently seen birds include the Crested Serpent-eagle, House Swift, Barn Swallow, Yellow bellied Prinia and Striated Swallow. Thankfully I did not encounter any snakes, especially when walking through thick bamboo groves. The hot springs are located close to the Lengshuikeng Bus Stop, with an outdoor foot dipping pool as well as a more private indoor facility for bathing naked. Both are free of charge. If you enjoy looking at nature, you might also like to hike around Maokong where I saw lots of butterflies and even miniature crabs, as well as interesting flora.

I saw many drone there during my visit.

Both places are not far to each other and if by taxi/car, it's less than 30mins from Ximenting. Or you can take the subway to Jiantan Station, and take the red-5 bus to Yangmingshan stop. I trust there are day tours there and you may like to check with your hotel for that as some hotels do have a tour desk or they can do the booking for you. Enjoy!

Free~ just have to pay for the bus, I cant remember the price for the all day ticket but if you go after 12 you can just use your easy card =)

We used a taxi from Taoyuan. I imagine you can use a taxi from anywhere and have as many stops as you wish.

tien lai hot springs is worth the visit.
