A great shopping / eating experience with other services now available too!
We visit quite regularly and love The Stableyard Restaurant. We also love the variety of shops and services which are now located there. Hairdressing, beauty, upholstery, gifts, and plants. Not open on a Monday but the other 6 days of the week are great. Plenty of parking and a great community feel. 👍

Love the "stone" shop. Fascinating selection as well as beautifully African hand carved elephants. Then to the restaurant to recuperate with delicious cakes and tea.

We came to Redlands Yard,Broadwindsor Craft Centre as was to go to the Gem and Stone shop but also for lunch in the restaurant.It says on the door that booking is essential and there may not be any spare tables.Lucky for us there was a table.Covid retrictions still apply with distancing and hand gel.
My wife who is Caeliac had the baked potato and salad and i had the pie of the day which said it was steak and ale.
Both dishes were tasty but it was a long time before delivery and only a few people at tables.I did point out to the staff that my pie did also contain mushrooms which were not mentioned on the menu.I am ok with them but some people may have an allergy to fungi.The response from the kitchen was laughter and thats steak and ale pie.Afterwards the waitress pointed out to a diner that there were mushrooms in the pie.

After visiting 2 yrs ago and giving the place a bit of a slating, thought we would give it another chance……Oh!! What a disappointment…..
Visited at 1 pm thinking of looking round then a bite to eat. Well bit strange when pulling into car park only one other car in there.
All a bit deserted wobbly cottage bakery 3 loaves in window no one around . Shop one person inside girl on till texting on phone.
Dog grooming open hair dressing open restaurant closed till later in month.
Only saving grace was Earth Design was open and managed to-have a nice conversation with the ladies who own it and bought a few items.
From a thriving craft centre a few years ago to a bit of a closed up desert ! Not worth the trip except for Earth Design !!!

Hi keith,
Thanks for visiting twice and “giving us a bit of a slating”. Sadly, in July, the restaurant had to close for 10 days due to a covid case. I thought I’d better mention that as you seem to have neglected to in your review. I do appreciate that this must have been horribly inconvenient for you - it was for us to.
Despite all the massive challenges the centre has faced over the last two years, we are incredibly proud to say we are still here and thriving! In fact, we have just welcomed two new businesses to the yard and the restaurant is back to its usual busy self. We really appreciate all the positive support and encouragement we have had from so many of our customers during these trying times - but i guess you wouldnt care about that Keith, just as long as you feel better for “giving us a bit of a slating”
PS: if you want something from wobbly cottage, we suggest getting there a bit earlier as they are generally sold out long before 1.00pm.
PPS: Sorry you had to witness someone using their phone .
PPPS: Sadly, the dog groomers closed in January so we are not sure how you saw them open?

We enjoyed our trip to Redlands and found most of the shops interesting and I think there is something for everyone more or less.
We decided to have lunch in the restaurant and although the quiche was very tasty and the fish goujons crispy, we were disappointed with the member of staff front of house, she didn't greet us with a smile and seemed a little stressed, treated the customers behind us the same way. Other members of staff were happy and welcoming however, so our visit was pleasant.

Made a visit to the Broadwindsor Craft and Design Centre. Fancied some lunch so my wife and I went into the restaurant at the centre. What a lovely place to eat. We had the Sunday roast followed up with a great dessert. Very confident and pleasant staff. Thanks

I was very pleasantly but sad to see that the craft centre had changed hands. The family who owned it before were lovely people. The decor is lovely and the menu very pleasing. I was a little disappointed that i couldn't find any childrens activities, like on my last visit, to entertain my child whilst waiting for our meals. If I may add a bit of constructive criticism, my meanl was the vegetable platter and I loved it! So lovely but i would have loved it even more if my grilled vegetables were warm. Maybe a little tweak to the menu? I would definately order it again. The craft centre is a dear place to my heart as when my dear nanny, many years ago, up until two years ago before she passed away, would come and spend many long hours, in the restaurant chatting over a hot drink and a piece of cake and then browsing round the lovely bits in the shop. I know she would love the changes and it was all so overwhelming, coming back for the first time after she had passed away to see that the decor has been done up to a high spec. Thank you for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to my next return!

Thank you for your review, we are glad you had a good experience - we have changed things a lot since you last visited! Unfortunately the vegetable platter is a cold dish, but you can have the grilled vegetables is a toastie if you prefer them hot! We look forward to seeing you again soon! (Ps the children’s games are in the conservatory corner by the comfy seating)

They looked after our large party with friendly efficiency. Everyone was pleased with their meal. The decor is pleasant and we enjoyed some early Christmas shopping.

Great restaurant with good fresh food and high standard service. Sadly the main unit in the craft centre is currently not open. Hopefully it will be soon.
