This free entrance museum is on Mekong riverbank. It is a French Colonial style two storey yellow building constructed between 1912 to 1914. It served as Nakhon Phanom governor's residence until 1984. Also, it was once a guesthouse for King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit during their visitation to Nakhon Phanom in 1955.
On the first floor, it narrates the memories of local resident and biographies of the former governors through the photos. It's also provides an interesting information about 8 tribes of indigenous peoples of Nakhon Phanom, whether it be their background, lifestyle, or cultural diversity.
The second floor express the story with images and sound of the time while his majesty the King and Queen came for overnight visits. It's also exhibits the large bedroom where his majesty the King and Queen were in residence.
There is a shop where visitors can support the museum by purchase some souvenirs. We also bought a shirt and a cute fridge magnet here.

This Indo-Chinese style building houses a small museum. It's a lovely building and the museum also has some information in English. The building is also of note as as king Rama the 9th once stayed here.

ไปช่วงเดือน มกราคม อากาศดีมาก ลมเย็นพัดจากฝั่ง สปป.ลาว ตลอด
สถาปัตยกรรมสวย น่าจะสมัยรัชกาลที่ 5 ถ้าไม่ผิดนะ
แต่ถ้าผิดก็ขออภัย อยากนั่งวาดรูปมากเลย
อาคารเหลืองสวย ดอกไม้สีสดๆ
จัดทริปกลุ่มวาดภาพสีน้ำนี่เหมาะเลยค่ะ
ที่สำคัญ คือ ความช้าในการใช้ชีวิต รู้สึกได้พักผ่อนจริงๆ

สามารถปั่นจักรยานไปได้ค่ะ สถานที่ร่มเย็นดีมาก เงียบสงบและเต็มไปด้วยความรู้ที่น่าสนใจ
