l really enjoyed the Annapolis Valley, especially Wolfville and Annapolis Royal, where I spent the night. Wolfville and Kentville have some great wineries, cideries, and breweries, and Annapolis Royal is very historic. Digby, the 'scallop capital of the world', was also great. Their scallops are worth writing home about! There are phenomenal views throughout the valley, and lots of beautiful architecture, wonderful restaurants, historic inns, and nice people.

We went in the spring(April) to visit friends that had recently moved to Wolfville. The trees were about to blossom but the best time to go is the fall when the fruit is in season. Would be very picturesque in May and June.

Took the Digby ferry over - early supper at The Crow's Nest (really good chowder and soup) and then on to Annapolis Royal where we spent two nights. Nice place for walks and interesting shops to poke your head into. The next three nights were in Wolfville - nice community with lots of choice for food/drink. Highly recommend visiting Beausoleil Farmstead Cidery/Vineyard with its wine-infused cider... delicious... and the owners are a delight. As this was late September, a number of the vineyards no longer served lunch but we did enjoy a fabulous meal at Luckett Vineyards - scenery could not be beat. Driving through the valley means stopping at vineyards, markets and of course, there is the waterfront. I could easily spend a week or three in the valley - great drives, trails and eating/drinking.

We made a detour driving from Halifax to Mahone Bay. I think we were about 1-2 weeks too early because we only got a small taste of the most amazing reds, yellows and oranges. I can only imagine how impressive it would have been the following week!! Countless lovely wineries to stop at.

This is a beautiful rural region of NS. Probably the most popular thing to do is the wineries. A number is great companies have wine tours. For us beer drinkers though, there’s some nice breweries to visit.
This is the farming capital of NS and I recommend a visit during the apple blossom festival. It’s great doing a u-pick for apples as well.
There is some excellent restaurants in Wolfville and Kentville, some small theatre companies, and world famous scallops in Digby.
There’s great parks and hikes in, for example, Blomidon and Cape Split.

Beautiful scenic walk with rock cliffs and caves. The little diner called Tides' In is located at the entrance to the beach. They have the best Fish & Chips with big portions at a great price! After lunch you can get a big ice cream and sit while you watch the tide come in.

This restaurant has the yummiest food in the valley! The staff are so friendly. Totally enjoyed the atmosphere. If you can go for burger wars I totally recommend it! Awesome visit and will definitely be going back soon!

I recognize this view, it is of 4 counties! Absolutely breathtaking. Tour the back roads. If you're on a motorcycle it's some of the loveliest little curves and hills I have seen.

This is a pretty area to drive through. Enjoyed seeing subtle changes in towns/villages from the time i was here last. Locals quite friendly and helpful where ever we stopped. Of course we made our way to Digby for the Digby scallops!
We decided not to go for whale watching a as had done considerable amount of that on the St. Lawrence River and some off Gaspe in the past. (we noted there were a number of operators.
