This was our second time Segwaying in Dalby Forest. The instructors were great, very calm and helpful. It is exhilarating scooting along a forest track and also through the forest. It does say on the booking but do wear gloves if it's anytime other than summer. A lot of fun.

The instructor was really nice. Was really fun up in the trees. Great day out! Easy place to park. Pay is alittle expensive at £10, so definitely need to make a day of it if you go.

Fantastic experience at Go Ape. Staff are so friendly and encouraging, especially to those nervous of heights (like me). Safety is top of their agenda. Special thanks to Jess for helping calm my nerves and for keep checking i was okay. Also for her help and support when I got stuck! Totally recommend and well done Go Ape! :)

What a experience. Loved every bit of it.
When I booked online I had somehow managed to book for the wrong date. The helpline was closed, so I set my alarm and called first thing the next morning. I got through to Amelia who was very understanding and helpful, we managed to get our dates switched.
We arrived to Go Ape 2 minutes late (due to traffic). Luckily we were the only ones booked on our slot so they said it was fine. The lady who checked us in was lovely and very helpful. We were then instruction to wait by the benches and someone will come fit our harness and go over safety.
We only waited 1 minute before the lovely Emma came over and introduced herself. Emma fitted mine and my boyfriends harness,
then went through the safety brief. Emma is very friendly and didn't rush us at all. She made us feel very comfortable as we were a bit nervous. We then saw Emma at different stages throughout the course which was really comforting and made the experience abit more personal, as we had a little chat going round. It was lovely to see Emma when we had finished and she joined in our excitement and achievement.
The course itself is excellent. The first stage is mainly the safety practice area, with the instructor. Emma then came with us to stage 2 and just watched as we went round so we could ask for advice if we needed it. From stage 3 we were on our own. We enjoyed stage 3 and the variety of obsticles. Stage 4, we thought, is the most challenging. But still enjoyed it. Yes stage 5 is just a long zip wire but it is so much fun :). Finally stage 6 the last one. I liked that on some parts it had 2 options. An easier one and a harder one. By this time I was worn out so took the easy option. Then the final zip wire. We were down and had completed our challenge. Very proud of ourselves we took our harnesses back and were present with a little #smashedit certificate, by Emma.
Overall very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely setting and a great experience.
Just as a little warning note if you do go, car parking cost £10 which we had to pay on the way out. Also if you are on a tight schedule make sure you book slots where there is plenty availability. So you can take your time and don't have to wait for others to arrive or make their way around the obsticles.
Thank you Dalby Go Ape team (especially Emma) for a great experience.

Brilliant afternoon out. Staff were so focussed on safety but also reassuring and kind. Including when I felt stuck on one section. They let our group get on once we had the hang, so to speak, of it. Course was great and very challenging. Fantastic fun. There is a parking charge which was fine but we were more concerned about the lack of go ape signs right at the gate - not clear we were in the right place! Highly recommended afternoon of fun

I boughtmy children and grandchildren a treetop challenge as a birthday gift. They received good instructions for the staff before heading out. A good couple of hours by the time they got round, but they didn't feel rushed. They have a basic cafe but I think most people took picnics. Bit disappointed that the shop didn't sell any Go Ape merchandise, it was more a visitor centre shop. All in all a good experience.

Went on the segways as it was a gift voucher experience. Out of my comfort zone so I normally wouldn't have gone. However, I'm so glad I did! We loved the segways experience. I wasn't a natural However with Will's patience and teaching I was able to get the hang of it slowly but surely. Only downside was the £9 parking fee which I thought was too expensive seeing as we were only there for an hour and a half. However assuming it goes towards the upkeep of the forest, I'll let it slide. Overall, a very enjoyable morning!

Fantastic, I'm 64 and had to go on to supervise my 15 and 13 year old grandchildren due to having an adult with them for safety reasons, I'm reasonably fit the hardest thing for me was having to climb rope ladders swinging about and hanging on for dear life but what great fun!, my grandchildren had a great time and one to remember and will talk about for years ahead and that's what it's about 'making memories', the £9.00 parking charge is reasonable when you consider it's an all day charge and it is helping with the upkeep of Dalby forest.

Booking process, arrival and safety brief all good as expected, from leaving stage 1 to the end, a bit of a disaster, groups were obviously too large, had to wait 40 mins from finishing stage 1, to starting stage 2, due to the backing up of people, didn't help that the stage 2 challenge was a tarzan swing. From then on, things were just totally backed up, the course was also very short, couldn't believe stage 5 was just a zip wire. Really disappointed, as i have been to 2 other Go Apes and i couldn't fault the experience there

Segways were good as was the course and staff but I think it is overpriced at £40 each plus then you have to pay £9 for parking. Surely parking should be free when you have a go ape booking. Interesting to note that at other go ape venues segways only cost £34.

Hi,
I’m looking for something for all the kids to do, is the treetop adventure suitable for my 12, 9, 8 and 6 year old please or would the older kids not find this one challenging enough?
Thank you

Hi Rachel,
I would recommend Pear Tree House B & B in Pickering first. It's about 5 miles from Dalby Forest. There are a few in Thornton le Dale, about 2/3 miles down the road, or The Fox & Rabbit which is just north of Dalby/Go Ape. Alternatively, there is a campsite at Dalby Forest, if that's your thing.
Hope that helps and that you have a great time.

The website says if you have thighs over or near 27 inches the harness may not fit. Is this correct?

Thanks for the question and for thinking of us. We need to update this on our website as we have a selection of harnesses available at site now. Our harnesses can fit a 34" thigh. Hope this helps and we see you for an adventure soon!

Hi could my 3 year old do the junior tree top adventure?

Hi, he/she may find it a little difficult to get around the course as you have to push you attachment along. I'm sure if your right behind it will be fine, some of the bigger kids get a bit frustrated if you take awhile you hold them up but when we went it was later in the day and very quite.

Thanks for getting in touch and for thinking of us. We have a Tree Top Junior Adventure at Go Ape Dalby which may tick the box. It’s a fun filled hour of canopy exploring, trail blazing and obstacles for mini Tarzans to enjoy. You’ll negotiate crossings and finish on a high (literally) with one awesome zip wire. We want to encourage everyone to be as adventurous as they can be. If your child is at least 1 metre tall, has a head for heights, is quite agile and you think the course is right for them then they’re welcome to join us on the course. All we ask is for an adult to be booked on to accompany them, one adult can accompany a maximum of 2 under 6s however we strongly advise 1 to 1, at least on their first visit. You know your child best, we want to be encouraging but the course won’t be for everyone, you should use your best judgement using the info provided or by chatting to the team at site. More info on participation and supervision can be found on our website. Hopefully see you for an adventure soon!
