Pigeons - PESTS
2020년 8월
I have been visiting this temple for the past 30 years. On my last visit i was very disappointed with the cleanliness of the temple and the surrounding. There are thousands of pigeons and their droppings are everywhere.
Solution:
1. Stop feeding them
2.Bird repellent gel
3.Bird repellent and spikes, Anti pigeon nail deterrent.
4. Feed them with Oral contraceptive tablets. This will reduce their population.

Thank you

Divinity & Spiritualism Temple
2019년 9월 • 개인
This temple narrates a 120 years of hidden history and I was mesmerized from its formation and existence since then. I was hospitalized in 2014 and my mother prays for my recovery and would pays vows for it and it came true. So we've visited this temple to pay the vows by carrying a pot of milk (Paal Kavadi) to Lord Marathandavar Murugan. This aalayam is very famous and remarkable for its Panguni Uthiram festival in April/May. Ample parking surroundings thevl temple and they do provide daily lunch for devotees. However, the temple committees need to consider on sprucing up the building for a grandeur look.

A temple worth viewing if you are in the area
2019년 7월
We happened on this temple by chance on the way from Kuala Tahan to Cherating Beach. It is a quite impressive circular building with polished, I think, marble floors and large airy open spaces supported by many columns. There is a large tree growing in and up through the structure with yellow wishes tied to it. Though it has carvings and decorative work this temple uses mostly shades of yellow or gold on all the surfaces giving it a unifying look. We visited around 1:30pm on a Monday and there were only a few people around. We couldn’t find any information in English so it remains a bit of a mystery to us

OLD MAINTAINED TEMPLE
2018년 1월
This is a temple located even deeper after the town of Maran. I reached the town at 1am and too scared to proceed to the road that leads to temple as it was dark and completely lonely. Parked the car in Maran Town and slept in the car before continue the drive to reach the temple at 4am, when i saw two cars heading the way of the temple..attended an early morning wedding. the temple had its own accomodation that is available for booking and eating hall... devotees come as early as sunrise.. left the temple before noon

Temple with positive vibes
2018년 12월 • 가족
This is a temple for Lord Murugan who appears in standing position with his Vel (divine spear). The temple is almost 120 years old and is located in Maran, a small town in Pahang state, Malaysia. The temple is surrounded by oil palm smallholdings and greenery. There is a river flowing at the back.

Legend dictates that workers who were clearing the forest to build a road were shocked when one of the trees they cut started bleeding. Realising it was a holy spot, they built a small shrine to the deity. Happy devotees who had their wishes granted by the Lord developed the temple over the years.

The temple is circular in shape with Lord Murugan consecrated in the main shrine flanked by Lord Vinayagar on the right and Lord Shiva on the left in separate shrines. There are other shrines to Lord Vishnu, the Mother Goddess and Murugan with his 2 consorts. Shrines to Lord Idumban and Naganathar are located in front of the temple within the compound.

The original tree has died but another tree is in the compound and this is also a focal point in the temple. Devotees who make a wish tie articles such as cradles etc. in yellow cloth which are hung on the tree trunk and branches. Once their wish is fulfilled by the Lord, thanksgiving prayers are performed. The temple is very crowded on most weekends and is famous for the Panguni Uthiram festival.

A few suggestions for the temple management, please clean up and repaint the temple interior. The ceiling is black with dust and bird waste. The dwarapalakas paint is peeling badly. The roof near the tree was leaking when we visited recently. The pipe at the Idumban shrine was also leaking heavily causing a puddle of water. The leg wash area is not suitable for the elderly and disabled due to the steps. Please maintain this holy place so that devotees can have a truly divine experience.

Maran Lord Muruga Temple
2017년 8월 • 친구
Friends from Kuala Lumpur took us by car driving 3 hours (about 250 KM via Gembang, before Putra jaya) to this temple. The Name "Maran" comes from Lord Muruga's name, Marathandavar. A small temple surrounded by forest like area, maintained by Nagarathar community (Chettiar families ex-patriates from South India), who took care of us and anyone visiting this temple. There is free food (Annadhaanam) and amenities for visitors. Annual walk (Paadha Yatra) from different places of Malaysia is another important aspect.
