Pleasant little park. None of the problems I’ve read in other reviews. No trash or rats to be found. The trees are amazing

An interesting place with cool, oddly shaped trees and the beautiful sculpture. But it does give an impression of a bit poorly maintained park with all the trash cans overflowing and homeless people living there.

A small park, located a the Southern side of the Av. de Andalucia, a bit West of the El Cortes Ingles department store.
The park honours the famous painter Pablo Picasso and was inaugurated in 1981 on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.
A nice place to relax a bit and enjoy several nice sculptures.

Visited late January and although a couple of gardeners doing their bit, it was still looking rather scruffy - not helped by the homeless dossing on the grass and benches occupied by “drink fiends”. Park was opened in 1981 to celebrate the centenary of Picasso’s birth and there’s a large, sombre modern monument dedicated to him by a local artist. At one end is a small childrens play area and large trees are dotted throughout the park (no doubt giving welcome shade in the summer months). I also noticed a plaque celebrating Malaga’s 1987 twinning with Passau in Germany. Don’t think many tourists visit here as it’s away from the main city areas. Nearby is an interesting Gaudi styled flat complex.

Pasear por espacios verdes supone distensión y un rescate de la naturalidad que nos habita, algo así como un encuentro que re-equilibra; también el mirar y entrenar las múltiples posibilidades y paradoja que brinda la observación de la escultura principal: Siéxtasis de Miguel Ortiz Berrocal. Un ficus gigante (conocido comúnmente como la Higuera de Bahía Moretón) baña de sombra uno de los lados de este paseo.

This park is not in the tourist path, but we happened by after going to church nearby and spent some time wandering through the pathways and formal garden areas. Many of the trees are overgrown, and perhaps a bit unkempt. If you are interested in plants, though, there are some amazing figs and several other trees. The climate has allowed some exceptional growth, and large specimen trees abound along with the interesting Picasso style sculptures.

The Picasso Gardens is a park inaugurated on the centenary of the birth of the great painter in 1981. The park is split two by a small road, but you can easily cross from one to the other using the zebra crossings. The gardens have a symmetrical arrangement in the shape of the petals of a flower. The park contains a great many tropical plants and trees and between two of these gigantic Ficus is the "Monumento a Picasso" cubist sculpture made in homage to Pablo Picasso by the Malagenean sculptor Berrocal.
The park is an amazing jungle of trees and greenery in the middle of a concrete jungle, in an area of Malaga that doesn't really get many tourists. The park also contains a children's play area in the eastern end of the park. Worth a detour if you're a big Picasso fan.
