My husband and I (in our 60s) stayed in Los Ficus for 9 nights in late November and we were very lucky to get great weather too.
Sylvia, our host was very friendly and helpful and always on hand to assist us when needed.
The apartment was spacious.... large bedroom, bathroom and living area. The balcony was adequate in size but would have been a bit small had there been more than two of us sharing the accommodation (it was a 2-bed apartment) It was very clean and well equipped though perhaps a chopping board, a sharp knife and scissors could be included. Sylvia gave us a hairdryer on request but perhaps this could be a standard item too? The absence of air-con didn't bother us in November but it might have in July! The beds are quite firm but reasonably comfortable. The couch was comfortable too.
The decor is plain, nothing fancy, maybe a bit dated but it was fine. Sylvia provided us with regular changes of towels, sheets and supplied toilet paper too.
Los Ficus is located close enough to a busy road but it wasn't too noisy at night time. The pool is pleasant and the beach is close by. Security was good as we were provided with a fob for accessing the gate and front door.
WIFI was priced at €27 for one week and €32 for two weeks. The reception was dodgy at times and was strongest on the balcony. We had two tablets and two phones with us. Streaming tv programmes proved to be the biggest challenge. Not sure if this is asking too much of the service in Gran Canaria ?? TV channels are not available in English but we were able to access some English speaking programmes as it was a Smart TV. Again the streaming was dodgy at times.
We enjoyed our stay in Los Ficus. It suited us for our relaxing stay.

COMPLAINT: We bought the following Viator / TripAdvisor tour when we in Fuerteventura, however we now request a full refund of £124.20 as we were not picked up as arranged because the pickup address was totally incorrect, some 330metres away from the entrance to the apartment complex and out of sight, and the Provider: Destination Services Spain would not answer the phone the day before when we tried calling numerous times to check and agree the exact place and time!

Positives: exactly what it says on the tin, the highlights. The hotel pick-up and drop-off was a plus. Good local food for lunch. Negative: the tour patrons were divided between a few minibuses. While suited to narrow mountain roads, these felt a tad claustrophobic if seated in the back seats.

We were picked up at our hotel in the morning and had a very nice day , visited the sand dunes 1st then through a few different villages and on to the alo vera place was very informative , after that on to lunch relaxed by the harbour , after lunch on to the volcano and as we had a very informative guide we learned lots about the island would def recomend

We took a day trip from Calete de Fueste to Lanzarote to see the volcanic national park.
It didn’t disappoint.
Not only did we experience the wonder of the volcanic activity in the area, we also learned about the production of aloe Vera products and were able to taste some local wine.
It was a wonderful day!

Spain, Portugal and Morocco-18 day tour
It wasn’t until we had paid our full fee that we received some paperwork which let us know that the tour was actually to be run by Julia Travel. I queried this as I had not wanted to book our tour with this company, and was informed that they get Julia Travel (JT) to organise accommodation and travel (which to me is the entire tour).
The tour was ok is some parts but extremely disappointing in others. The group changes, numbers get up to 62, the bus is hot and crowded, but the biggest disappointment is for English speaking passengers. At times, especially on the Morocco section, we were left confused and not being given directions at all. For example, the bus pulled up and directions were only given in Spanish, so we didn’t know why people were getting off or what we had to do. We certainly did not get the amount of information that Spanish speakers got., and what we did get was difficult to understand.
Many of the local guided tours were very basic – a lot of time spent getting off and on the bus to see one monument then move on. Information given was really not very interesting.
The information given once we got to our hotel was poor – nothing written, only brief explanations of where you could eat or what is good to see, and this was given quickly and very hard to understand. Most of the older passengers just stayed in the hotel because they didn’t know where else to go. This was the same when we arrived somewhere and had free time to explore – most (especially English speakers) were left confused and not really knowing where they should go.
Our itinerary for Morocco was changed last minute – which meant we had 2 nights in Casablanca instead of 1xCasablanca 1xMarrakesh. This meant that we spent over 7 hours in the bus to visit Marrakesh for just a couple of hours. It was really rushed, and we really only saw the market and a bite to eat. When I queried the change with Destination Services (DS) they told me I had to contact Julia Travel (JT) for further information. I spent a lot of my holiday time calling and texting JT to give them all the information, only to be told I had to contact my Travel agent (DS). It was very frustrating and DS were dismissive and at times rude when dealing with them. They had a real ‘don’t care’ attitude.
Having spent 2 nights in Casablanca the only places we got to set foot on were a Mosque and the hotel. Very disappointing. It seemed like a market and mosques were all that we got to see in Morocco. We felt it was such a waste of time and money for us, being so rushed and so much time spent on the bus/ferry to get there. The guide for this section gave repetitive, boring information that really did not add value to the trip.
The accommodation might be at 4 star hotels but we were often given rooms that were not up to scratch, needing work, overlooking a carpark or brick wall or in a basement section of the hotel.
I don’t recommend this trip, especially for English speakers, and I am very disappointed with Destination Services – I’m really not sure what service they provide except to take your money, outsource and then wipe their hands.

Lanzarote 2023 ho fatto un escursione in giornata da fuerteventura a lanzarote e’ stata davvero fantastica soprattutto la guida della veratur che parlava tre lingue abbiamo visto tante attrazioni la queva sotterranea la cantina dei vini ma soprattutto il vulcano il ristorante el pueblo l’unico ristorante che cuociono la carne sul vulcano del timanfaja

Van te voren aan gegeven dat iemand een vegan dieet heeft vanwege allergie en hier zou rekening mee gehouden worden met de lunch. Met ongeveer 30 mensen gingen we op de boot. Toen we gingen varen kregen we een sandwich. Deze was niet vegan. Al snel kwamen we dolfijnen en baby dolfijnen tegen die naast de boot zwommen. Verder op heel veel walvissen waaronder ook baby walvissen. De boot had een fijn tempo en vaarde rustig langs en om de dieren heen. Na het spotten kregen we lunch. Deze was ook niet vegan. Er was wel een banaan, maar daar kan je ook niet van leven op zo’n hele toch als je ergens op gerekend had. Na de lunch wezen zwemmen in een prachtig gebied waar de vissen om je heen zwemmen. Alles was leuk, alleen jammer dat er uiteindelijk toch geen rekening is gehouden met het dieet en er op één banaan geleefd was waar wel een hele lunch voor betaald was.

Disappointed
The tour guide didn’t seem interested
Didn’t like the selling aspect of this tour ie goats cheese and aloe Vera although the talk on the aloe Vera plant was very informative
What I didn’t like was the lunch and the enforced all sitting together with people you don’t know not everyone wants this !
