Awesome cooking experience

My husband and I enjoyed the many talents of Annaleise teaching us how to make Ravioli ,Tiramisu , Pizza, stuffed eggplant and a chicken dish. The cooking school is set in the grounds of a true Venetian countryside manor. We were lucky enough to have her instruction all to ourselves - enjoyed the amazing wine and food we prepared- hospitality made us feel a part of the family- definitely a must if your looking for a unique cooking experience- we were very well looked after and Emanuel? Translated for us if we did not understand and he welcomed us like part of the family. A truely wonderful experience- thank you for making our first trip to Italy amazing. We will return.

Maria's Cooking Class - Venice trip highlight

My husband and I traveled to Rivigo by train for a cooking class. We loved finding our way from Venice to the countryside to this amazing estate. This was our first cooking class and we enjoyed the whole experience. We made pizza, ravioli, tiramisu and Italian vegetable dishes. We enjoyed lunch with Gianluca and spend time enjoying the gardens before heading back. This cooking class was truly one of our most memorable days in Italy!!

Superb cooking class

The class was outstanding, the ingredients were picked fresh from their farm and we were able to make many dishes from scratch ( pizza, eggplant rotini: tiramisu, ravioli and stuffed tomatoes. The results all tasted great as we had a leisurely lunch consisting of the food we made. The setting was ideal and the people friendly and patient.

Great fun in a beautifully equipped kitchen; worth the trip and cost

We were a group of 8 who have cooked together for 35 years. We have done a lot of Italian cooking but we wanted the authenic cooking of people who grow up Italian and that is what we got. It is part of the Agritourism movement, a great way to sample living Italian.

We were staying in Venice for a week so we took the train to Rovigo, were met by the taxi minivan arranged by Gianluca, cooked, enjoyed sitting with him eating and asking questions about life in Italy. We were back in Venice by 4:00, well fed. We were sent a 60 page cookbook file and photos and videos of us cooking, a nice bonus. November weather kept us from enjoying the grounds but a dreary day was well spent in the lovely modern kitchen and dining room.

New experience in pasta making

We, a group of 8, traveled by train from Venice to Rovigo, then a quick taxi ride to Villa Castel. We were greeted by Gianluca and started are cooking adventure. It was a very fun way to spend the afternoon, making pizza dough, ravioli, and tortellini. Then ate a fantastic meal. We had a great time and highly recommend.

very nice and personal cooking class

We had a great time at Maria's Cookery Course, preparing and enjoying some nice Italian dishes. It was very personal (we were the only two guests attending the course) and they explained everything very well. The villa is located very peacefully in the outskirts of Rovigo and it is very relaxing just walking around in the gardens. Great after a busy trip in Venice city.

It's been nearly a year since we travelled to Italy and we still tell everyone that Maria's Cookery Class was one of the absolute highlights of our trip. Gianluca gave us a warm welcome and was quick to respond to any queries we had. The girls were great – Annalisa made sure we understood every step and it was a relaxed and fun experience cooking in a very beautiful location. We had a class for just the two of us and it was a cosy and really enjoyable way to spend the day as a couple. You will get to make a number of dishes and recipes to take home – today I'm making Melanzane Alla Parmigiana for family! We highly recommend putting this on your holiday agenda.

This class was a gift for my 16 year old daughter! It was so nice to travel to the country side to this quaint location! The staff made it such an enjoyable experience. Take the extra time for the travel ... it is worth it!!

Amazing Homemade Italian Food Experience!

While visiting Venice, my husband and I decided that it would be so much fun to take a cooking class. The class took place in the commercial kitchen at Tenuta Castel Venezze. Had I done a little more research about where the class would be held, we would have stayed a night there because the grounds were dreamy. But I didn't, so we took a train ride from Venice to Rovigo where Gianluca picked us up and drove us to the class. Gianluca was great! He translated for us in the kitchen and helped us navigate the trains on our way there and back. He also ate with my husband and I and we shared a great time of conversation. The class was amazing! Maria was so sweet! All of the food was delicious and simple enough for us to make at home. Gianluca also e-mailed us the recipes we prepared during our class, which was great, and he took photos for us while we cooked, which we treasure. Don't eat a large breakfast beforehand and don't make dinner reservations for that evening...you will be making so much food! Also, we made the chocolate cake with pears for dessert (which was delicious), but I have a feeling we missed out on not having that tiramisu! So I suggest choosing that as your dessert.
