Harald Hairfair´s mother, the Oueens holiday resort!
2018년 7월 • 커플
A small pass about 300m will take you the last steps up to the mighty ruins of Ragnhildsholmen as an old fortress. This early fortress helped building the old city of Kongahella situated right across the river of Nordre Älv. Nordre Älv is a northern stretch of the mighty Göta Älv as it on its way meets the sea. It is also about the contact with the sea and it´s possibility´s it gave to seaborne adventurers to sail and ravish other lands. The Ragnhildsholmens old fortress is on the island Hisingen. So you have to take in mind that the water was higher with the Ragnhildsholmen as an island. The Hising Island and all land surroundings are all land from old battles concerning kings making throughout history. Outside the mouth of Nordre älv mighty warrior´s yearly met. A Danish king and his men, Norwegian king and his men and Swedish king and his men made up their matters. Who is the king of Viken? Always the standing question “Who is king?”. From Viken there was taken the richest taxes possible. People were rich in the Viken area both in NorrViken and SunnerViken area because of all Viking raiding going on in this time before 1100. Viken was an area situated from around Oslo and down to the river Göta älv, nowadays called Bohuslän. Friendly and unfriendly matters were arranged either it was as a sea battle or warrior to warrior fights like, Holmgång, to come to an end in a big matter between king´s, earl´s and so on. Holmgång were when 1 man against 1 man up to several men took to battle. The battle could concern up to 12 men fighting, tightly roped together with one arm and it was always “last man standing” fights as it often was in this old Nordic history. The history has always been bloody and ruthless it has been a land several have fought over. Kongahella, the great capital of Norway about 1132 and the old fortress Ragnhildsholmen, already sung on its last verses without knowing it. 1135 the Vends came from Vendland to attack old Kongahella. They came sailing from above Kongahella, sailing from below Kongahella and with cavalry on land to attack Kongahella. Ship´s and cacalry had a coordinated attack on Kongahella through Ratibor I, Duke of Pomerania, on the citadel and on the early church inside Kongahella. Ragnhildsholmens has its own dark history mostly before the city of Kongahella was established. Early Swedish history is filled with king´s and earl´s in fights over power, money and the reigning of the kingdom. Earl´s held this as fortress against a usurper in the fight of who´s the king. Much evidence of histories is still in the earth with its surprise´s still to be told. Ragnhildsholmen did not appear as a roman building site because a gothic building style was now introduced. I believe that this fortress started as a little house for Harald Hairfair´s mum, Ragnhild. Harald for his own had, among several, a king’s mansion in Tofta, Lycke, Kungälv, 3 km away. Augustine monks established themselves before 1100 on the other side of Ragnhildsholmen in monastery. The Augustine order was several times erased but the order came back and the last time about 1240 they erected brick ovens for building purposes. This fortress is nowadays a ruin but if you read some Nordic history you may see everything happening all around you. There is no admission, it’s free. Ragnhildsholmen is best visited in daylight. Public transfer takes you from Gothenburg center to and back Ragnhildsholmen during daytime. Public transfer has fees. If you come with a car there is a free parking 300-400m away from Ragnhildsholmen. Keep in mind it’s a historic ruin but if you are interested in history this is a landmark to be seen. The new Kongahella was rebuilt and moved to where it is nowadays, the city Kungälv.

Flot ruin med udsigt
2017년 7월 • 커플

2016년 7월 • 가족
Vackert beläget och spännade att utforska. Barnen älskar att leka jage på murkrönen fast då vill mamma helst knapra lugnande. På våren sjunger näktergalen i dungen vid älven. Och glöm inte att kolla efter vinbergssnäckor.
