I am sorry that you were under the impression that our establishment came across as "very clique" when you visited. Far from being"clique", the vast majority of our customers are regular visitors that know each other well, and therefore will engage with each other on a friendly and inclusive basis. They are also welcoming to new visitors, and will engage with you should you wish, (some visitors may just want to sit quietly on their own enjoying their drink). We pride ourselves on our very high level of customer service and staff training, especially during the current COVID crisis, and have been fully compliant with all COVID regulations.at all times. You were served by Andrew, one of the co-owners, during your visit, and I also observed your behaviour. The event in the rear room was not a private event. It was a fully COVID compliant, seated and socially distanced event, that you were repeatedly refused admission to, as the room was full (28 people in a room with capacity for 90), as there were no spare seats. For your information, artistes on stage were permitted to sing during COVID restrictions - CUSTOMERS were not. Despite being refused admission to the room, you continued to wander around the main bar with your drink in hand and attempt to watch the show from the hallway outside the rear room, completely ignoring requests by Andrew and other members of staff to remain seated in the bar, in compliance with COVID regulations. Security was almost called at one point to have you removed from the premises for non-compliance. COVID restrictions and compliance were in effect at The Hart to protect all our customers, and your refusal to adhere to them demonstrated a lack or respect or concern for others' wellbeing.

Hi Martin. I should like to address the issues that you mention in your review. I am uncertain when you visited us, however, if it was when the nightclub was open, then yes, as you put it there would have been "high tempo trashy dance music" being played. It tends to be what people want to dance to in a nightclub situation. We do cater for all ages from 18 to 80 in the venue, and during the week you will generally find that the music played in the main bar is a very eclectic mix ranging from modern popular through to Motown to the 70's, 80's and the 90's. It is not possible to play different music in the main bar and the clubroom when the nightclub is open, as due to their proximity, the music clashes. As there is predominantly a younger crowd in on these occasions, the music from the clubroom is played through to the main bar. The condiments that you mention are not in the bar area, they are in the kitchen area. They are stored there as it is not a serving area for the main bar. You commented on our lighting arrangements also. For your information the lighting was designed and installed by one of London's top design companies when the venue was totally refurbished. I am sorry that you seem to have had an unenjoyable visit with us. I do hope that you will visit on another occasion, and hopefully have a better experience.
