One of the best things we've done in Bali! Amazing!!!

This place is amazing! The photos just don't do it justice. It was AU$25 including entry, English speaking guide, towel, locker and lunch - great value for money. Right from the start it was so much fun. Prepared to get wet! Some parts are chest high deep and wear joggers or swim shoes if you have them as parts can be slippery too. So much fun though. We had an awesome, friendly and funny guide, who helped us through the harder parts and pointed out things we probably would have missed. He took heaps of photos and videos for us along the way. And be sure to give your guide a tip at the end, they deserve it! We will definitely be doing this again next visit.

Eine tolle Erfahrung in einer wunderschönen Landschaft.
Bei der 1,5-stündigen Tour durch den Canyon wird geschwommen, geklettert und auf dem Rückweg durch Reisfelder gelaufen.

Unsere Tourguides Warja und Arjana waren spitze! Sie kannten jeden Stein und haben uns sicher durch den Canyon geführt. Außerdem haben die beiden tolle Fotos und Videos von uns gemacht.

Im Eintritt sind die tollen, erfahrenen Guides, Essen & Mineralswasser, Duschen & Handtücher sowie Müllbeutel für die nassen Badesachen enthalten.

A great experience in a beautiful landscape.
The 1.5 hour tour through the canyon includes swimming, climbing and walking through rice fields on the way back.

Our tour guides Warja and Arjana were top! They knew every rock and guided us safely through the canyon. They also took great photos and videos of us.

The entrance fee includes the great, experienced guides, food & mineral water, showers & towels as well as garbage bags for the wet swimsuits.

Worth the challenge

What a fantastic experience. The guides were patient and attentive and kept the whole thing light and fun at all times. Challenge was reasonable but we were helped the whole way and never rushed. As this was a little off the beaten track we felt like our visit was really appreciated. Could easily recommend for families with kids 10+ who don't mind stepping out of their comfort zone. Very rewarding!

Pics don’t do justice, you really need to see this in person to appreciate its beauty

Our driver suggested the Hidden Canyon trek on our recent couples vacation Aug/Sep ‘23. The few videos and pics he sent did no justice to the reality of this amazing place!!!

From the moment you start the trek, the beauty of this place was evident and with every corner you turned, there was a new surprise that kept getting better and better.

The guides were super helpful and instructed us on each step to take safely, showed us the rock jump, and were very informative all the way through, and of course very funny and friendly.

Be prepared to get wet, be brave and trust your guides and this place will blow you away. Don’t miss this if you want a real treat in Bali!!!

Great Value/Fun (can do in barefeet)

A great experience that I would do again, with an amazing guide taking photos and ensuring we were safe to jump in the water and go on a rope swing.
It was fine to do in bare feet as you could grip the rocks easier but you could bring aqua shoes if you really wanted.
The food and view at the end was great and I would come back and do this again as it was great value.

Ein Geheimtipp, aber wie lange noch?

Wir waren Anfang Mai 2023 zu viert beim Hidden Canyon. Dieser ist nicht sehr bekannt und auch wenig frequentiert. Der Eintritt kostet pro Person 240.000 Indonesische Rupien (ca. 15€). Inkludiert ist ein Guide für zwei Personen, Wasser, ein Essen, welches man bei Ankunft aussuchen kann. Die Leute sind sehr freundlich und unglaublich professionell.
Man sollte schon etwas Kondition mitbringen, gegen den Strom zu schwimmen war für den ein oder anderen etwas schwieriger.
Wasserschuhe sind empfehlenswert. Keine Flipflops. Diese werden von der Strömung sicher gleich weg gespült. Man wandert ca. 2-3 Stunden durch den Canyon. Wenn man konditionell nicht so gut unterwegs ist, kann man bloß bis zum ersten Canyon laufen. Es lohnt sich aber sehr weiter zu gehen zu dem 2. und 3. Canyon. Beim dritten Canyon gibt es eine Schaukel, da kann man Tarzan-like schwingen.
Wenn die Tour beendet ist, läuft man durch Felder und Reisfelder wieder an den Anfang der Runde. Dort gibt es sehr saubere Duschen, Toiletten und ein Essen. Das Essen war sehr, sehr lecker.
Alles in allem einer der lohnenswerteren Ausflüge auf Bali. Natur pur ohne die ganzen Instagramer.

Extremely uncomfortable experience with our guide

Me and my friend (both female in our 20's) visited this canyon after seeing all the great reviews, however, we had an extremely uncomfortable experience with our guide, Ketut.

We were in our swimwear which we had been advised to change into, but as we began navigating the canyon we slowly noticed our guide being very hands on and inappropriate when helping us.

At first we thought this was accidental because of the nature of such a challenging terrain where we were dependant on him for support, but we soon realised this wasn't an accident and continued for the full trek. He seemed to justify this behaviour with 'I'm sorry', however, putting his hands on our bikini lines, around our waist and pulling us into his body when helping us cross strong currents or up onto rocks was in no way acceptable.

Had we been with a male this behaviour would not have happened. The issues with Ketut totally tainted what would have been a beautiful experience, as the canyons were amazing.

We reported this to the front desk before we left, to which we got an apology closely followed by a 'please follow us on instagram'!

Incredible experience for those wanting a challenge and a truly unique activity!

This experience was one of the best we’ve had all holiday here in Bali. From reading about it a little online, the experience far exceeded our expectations and I couldn’t believe how quiet it was! I expected it to be extremely busy but we only saw a few others starting their trek after us.

I did read online that you could do this without a guide but this is not the case and rightly so! You definitely need the guide package they offer and there’s quite a bit included including food at the end.

We opted to do all 3 canyons which took us around 2hrs total but there was an option to do only one which would be better for those less confident swimming and climbing. My partner and I are pretty fit but it was a challenge so if you can’t swim then this isn’t for you.

It was slightly scary going into the water but our guide Mangku was an absolute pro. Big shout out to him as he helped us all the way and we felt very comfortable and confident under his guidance.

If you can do this then we HIGHLY recommend. We got there at 9am and afterwards we then went to Tegenungun waterfall as it’s not too far away and we were done by 1-2pm.

One of our best days in Bali! We decided last minute to add this tour to our Bali honeymoon trip and we were both so glad that we did, as it was even better than we could've imagined! It is such a beautiful place to explore and with a great guide you can't help feel even more relaxed in this piece of jungle paradise!

Paros Kitchen is also definitely worth a stop along the way back :)
