Just writing this review for all who plan to visit over weekend. I would highly recommend to visit early in the morning like reach the temple by 6am or max by 6.30am then you will easily get parking, temple is hardly 200 or 300 meters away. If you want to further reduce down your waiting time you may make donation of 200Rs per person and get into VIP darshan queue which may reduce down your Darshan time considerably, for me on a Sunday morning it took only 30-45 mins and it was very peaceful Darshan on a Sunday. Although it was not a festive season, during those days expect lot more crowd.

Very divine feeling once inside the compound. Went in Diwali week, so the queues for normal darshan were 6 hours. There is a separate line for Rs 200 entry which supposed to open at 6 or 7 pm but that's quite chaotic.
my tip: lot of touts offering direct 10 mins darshan for 1500 per head. its your choice.
also being the festive season, parking entry to the temple is stopped 1 km away and the road is blocked. touts offered us access to go right up to the temple in our car for Rs 500 which we accepted. Instead of doing this - there is a better route which we used to exit from the complex. On Google maps it is marked as Trimbak ring road and it has a Pay and Park from which temple is only 200 m away. The entry to this road is from NH 160 and is marked by a big arch for Swami Samarth gurukul or Sadguru Dham Ashram.

We visited during the last week of March 23. There are fewer crowds even in the morning hours on Monday. After buying VIP tickets from Uttar Dwar (North Gate) for Rs. 250, we entered the temple. The line was shorter because there were fewer people. Within 10–15 minutes, we reached the sanctum. Here, the shivalinga is swayambhu. Inside the main shivalinga, there are three small lingas representing Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheshwar. But you can’t see them directly, as you are not allowed to go inside. You can watch this through a huge mirror kept behind the idol. But a replica can be seen outside the main temple, but on the temple premises. In front of the main sanctum, there is a barricaded area for doing rudrabhiseka puja by devotees. Rudrabhisekha puja will take 30-35 minutes, with charges of Rs.1100/-, including puja material. You can contact the pujaris on the spot, but depending on the crowd that day,

Good visit. Its about 170 kms from Mumbai, 4-5 hours drive depending upon traffic. Not much crowd when we visited on a weekday and darshan was done in 1 hour. Cleanliness within temple was good but was bad outside. Being one of the 12 Jyotirings it is of importance for Hindus.
