Rare wetland/walks so close to town

Visitor centre is full of info on the locals. The paths themselves are a rare taste of nature close to the city.

The visitor centre is maybe a little *too* child-friendly if you don't want to be around children, but ah well, it's important that they be raised properly.

After getting past all the noisy, barren and dangerous roads and cycleways, you get a 2km circular path through the forest with a bird hide on the other side, where you might be able to make out some birds above the roar of traffic on the M1.

Lovely walk today. Took my camera to capture some wildlife, there's benches situated around the walkway and some nature info signs as well. Pathway is very well maintained

Had an early morning walk around some of the wetlands at Boondal this morning. Lovely walk on well maintained paths. Lots of nature to see. There are many nature info signs along the way as well.
I was too early to visit the centre (usually 9am but check first) but I'll be going back during opening hours

A worthwhile outing

Interesting place to entertain the grandchildren and consume some time on the school holidays. Some of the activities in the centre are interactive with participation and are both amusing and interesting. Our outing ended with a walk through the area on established walkways and make sure you obtain the brochure to "spot the creatures" along the way.

Great place to visit

My Mother-in-law has lived near here for over 30 years and has never been. We took her down on the weekend. Lesson learned, get there early as there is limited parking. Walks were good though. Don't forget bug spray. Ranger was very helpful pointing out Tawny Frogmouth and large green frog.
Great pathways for walking, level and solid saw several people in wheelchairs. Bike pathways have been upgraded hence the renewed interest in the Reserve.
Looking to go back again, this time during the week. Be aware it is not open on Mondays

Great Place to spend a few hours

We have driven past Boondall Wetlands quite a number of times and did not realise how close to the highway or how nice it is. We rode our bikes through the wetlands and down to Nudgee beach. Had a nice lunch at cafe 88 and had a coffee at the coffee van and dog wash. If you have a few hours to spare it is well worth a visit. Staff in the Environment Centre are friendly and very helpful.

Quick walk through with the dog

Stopped here to break up a journey North and to walk the dog. Found a friendly and informative ranger who gave us some information about the wetlands and also directed us to the dog bowl for water. Nice flat walking trail about 2klm long with a bird watching platform about half way along. Very serene while watching the birds and small fish in the creek.
