This was the highlight of our day trip to the Great Barrier Reef. The twenty-minute flight took off from a small platform adjacent to the main Agincourt platform and was excellent. It certainly gives a great view of the reef and how vast it is. The pilot was very professional and knowledgable. Excellent trip and highly recommended.

There are a confusing array of options to see the Reef. We opted for the Quicksilver Outer Barrier Reef (24 min helicopter out, 1 hour catamaran back).
Helicopter is 10/10. Stunning and interesting perspective of the hundreds of small reefs that make the Great Barrier Reef.
Snorkelling is fun. You’ve got to be a confident enough swimmer to leave the safety of dock. The Agincourt Reef does not have the colours in the brochures (not their fault. Global warming ) There is some info available, but not much if you enjoy facts and learning.
Huge buffet. Something for everyone.
-Outer Reef has more fish (apparently)
-book the helicopter in advance. 35 mins is plenty of time
-200+ ppl on catamaran. Not a cozy get away.
-do some research in advance as there’s not much on board.

Best way to get an overview of the spectacular Great Barrier Reef, including visiting the swim platform. Sunny days are best. Take the helicopter to the swim platform, then try diving or touring the reef in a semi-submersable submarine, visit the underwater observatory.

Took a fifteen minute flight out over the Great Barrier Reef whilst out on the Quicksilver permanent pontoon for a day trip. Superb value for money with an informative pilot who clearly loved his job (who wouldn't?). Only from the air can you truly appreciate the true majesty of this reef, and this is the only way to see it at its best!
