Despite the recent weather event, the garden looked spectacular, albeit for the very muddy grass. Good variety of flowers and trees to look at, and it made for a peaceful walk. Was disappointed at the lack of roses but the rest of the garden made up for it. The cafe next door was a little pricey, but the food was delicious. Would definitely come here again.

Most of what is here is European, but still quite beautiful and with a great view over the lake. There are shady walks, some seats, plenty of flowers, even in April, fruit bats and a really good cafe (Lake View)

On the shore of Lake Colac within the town, and adjacent to the Lake Colac CP, these well established botanic gardens are a delight to stroll around. Be aware of the large bat colony towards the eastern end of the gardens.
Plenty of walking paths, toilets, playgrounds and a cafe.

This is a hidden gem with views of lake Colac. Moderate prices with good food. Menu could expand but scones are country huge and tasty

Located on the southern banks of Lake Colac this 16 HA of developed gardens was quite impressive with well established trees and paths. The land for the gardens was allocated in 1865 and the gardens established three years later and was last updated in 1910 by the Melbourne Botanical Gardens and is one of the more impressive places around the lake and in Colac.

Found this by accident as we walked around down town Colac. And what a gem this was. A great garden with some impressive landscaping. The garden combines a walking track, a great view of nearby Lake Colac and a playground for the young garden lovers.
We arrived about 6pm and were able to walk around easily - really easy walk. From what I understand, it’s possible to drive around if you attend before 4pm.
Definitely worth a look if you have a spare 30 mins.

Drove the gentle circuit with the CBG. Turned off radio angst, wound down windows and felt senses calmed by garden beauty, cool air and greenery scent. A place of peace. Oasis for all visitors in a crazy year. Plenty of local dog walkers about.

Superbly designed gardens with huge oaks providing shade in summer. Variety of floral displays. Extremely well looked after. To top it off a great cafe on-site. If the Council could just offer a good caravan park, that would make a good trifecta. Please Council, do something about the dated and jaded lake-front caravan park. You are missing out on opportunities.

Visiting this area for a W/end from Cairns we decided on a brief walk around Colac Botanic Gardens on Saturday morning 31/08/19. It's only 10-15 min walk from Colac town centre & on entering the Gardens you can easily appreciate how well maintained the Gardens are kept. Early spring flowers & beautiful pathways leading to some very old solid trees. Just wish we had more time being on a tight schedule.
Highly recommend a visit when in Colac.

Worth a visit with a circular stroll around the gardens. All tree's are tagged so you know what you're looking at. Situated by Lake Colac and a quaint cafe left to the gardens, where you meet old world charm.
