Quite a distance to get there but beautiful sunset

The location is quite a distance to get to but it was complemented with a nice sunset besides the lighthouse.

I took the MRT east west line all the way to Tuas Link which is the last station. The Raffles Marina is behind the train station which is less than 10 minutes walk. The lighthouse is accessible through the clubhouse.

If you are out here for sunset photography, the best time to arrive is around 5 pm when the heat is not so excruciating. Otherwise, settle for a few drinks at the club’s restaurant while waiting for the temperature to ease a bit.

It’s a nice scenery of luxury boats parked at the Marina. The second link Tuas bridge connecting Singapore and Malaysia as well as the Malaysian Forest City are visible from here, which makes some interesting subjects for the sunset seascape photography.

The lighthouse is extremely popular. It’s crowded. So you might want to shoot some of the scene much earlier before the crowd sets in.

Easily accessible lighthouse

Raffles Marina Club is located next to the terminal mrt station, Tuas Link. The Raffles Marina lighthouse is located at the tip of the Club's breakwater. This lighthouse was built in 1994 and is maintained by the Club. It is the only lighthouse not owned and operated by the Maritime Port Authority of Singapore such as the Raffles Lighthouse located on Pulau Satumu.
Raffles Marina lighthouse overlooks the Tuas Second Link – Singapore's second causeway to Malaysia. It is 12 metres high and it flashes every 10 seconds with a beam that reaches 15 metres. The lighthouse is opened to the public from 8 am to 10 pm. Public can also dine here but at non-member's price.
It is popular spot for photography groups especially during sunset. We combined a visit here with a visit to Jurong Hill Park as both attractions are not too far away.
