Il monumento Newborn (Neonato) rappresenta il simbolo dell' indipendenza del Kosovo. Eretto nel Febbraio 2008 viene modificato ogni anno in occasione dell'anniversario dell'indipendenza del paese. Più che la bellezza architettonica colpisce il significato di questo monumento, che fa da sfondo perfetto per qualche foto ricordo!

I guess the reason this sculpture was built is more important than its appearance. Very symbolic for the locals I am sure and should be. Be as a tourist attraction it wasn’t attracting much attention.

As a landmark of the city it’d be silly not to pass by, but situated where it is and on a busy road means there isn’t a great deal else to do in the immediate area. However this does also mean (certainly every time I passed anyway) that it isn’t swamped with tourists continually and people taking photos. There’s not any signage explaining the significance which I spotted but with the ever changing design it’s something worth revisiting each time you’re in the city.

Meaning is the New Born of a country. At the birthday of Kosovo they thange the subject every year - in 2022 the topic is the violance against women.
