When you step into Tribal Collections Nomadic Rugs, you are transported to into a textile dream. We visited the shop in March of 2024 looking for authentic Turkish rugs & pillows and had the most unbelievable shopping experience. Not only did we find some of the most beautiful pieces we had ever seen, but we were also able to sit down with the owner Ruth and her assistant Osman. They were so kind, welcoming, and so knowledgable about rug weaving and its history. We learned so much about Turkey's culture, history and also new tips/skills for buying certain textiles and patterns. Thank you Ruth for having such an amazing shop and eye for design - we can't wait to go back!

Wow - what an absolutely fabulous review ! I really appreciate it and please know that from my side it was such a pleasure meeting you and your sister and such a joy to share that time together. Your enthusiasm and interest in all the beautiful rugs and kilims and textiles is why I love my job and I am so delighted that we have stayed in contact .

Ruth's shop Tribal Collections is a true gem in Goreme. Not only does she have a beautifully curated collection of rugs and textiles to see but Ruth is a warm and knowledgeable host who can share with you her deep knowledge of the history and craftsmanship of her rugs. Ruth cares deeply that her customers truly love their purchases. There is never any pressure to buy, and over a leisurely cup a tea, you learn more about the techniques and work of carpet weaving. We have visited her shop and have also made purchases online for delivery. I cannot recommend Ruth and Tribal Collections highly enough. We are definitely lifelong customers and fans!

My husband and I were staying in a Cave Hotel near Tribal Collections. Everyday we walked into town we would walk by the store. We loved Turkey so much we wanted to bring something back home to the US. From the moment we walked in, Ruth was so knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Not to mention all the beautiful pillow covers. We bought a collection and had them shipped back home. They arrived timely and safely. No issues! Highly recommend Tribal Collections for the quality and craftsmanship and variety of textiles!!! Happy Shopping!!!

Ruth and tribal collections are hands down the best shop I’ve ever walked into. The colors, the ambiance, and Ruth + Osman are amazing. Her knowledge from being in the industry for 30+ years is extensive and she’s so honest and transparent which really was a breath of fresh air. Her pillows are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen and her collection of rugs…WOW. Piles and piles of antique, handmade, one-of-a-kind and like nothing I’d seen in other shops. It was a true experience, we left feeling like we’d make new friends. Her dog is the cutest too 🐶. Don’t skip this rug shop when you’re in Goreme, it’s truly #1.

I had the most amazing experience with Ruth and her colleague, Osman. Ruth is not only fascinating, but also an absolute expert in her field. The store has a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, with no pressure or expectations to make a purchase. We spent nearly 4 hours exploring a wide variety of rugs and carpets, and Ruth's knowledge about each piece was truly impressive. Her passion and expertise made the entire experience enjoyable and memorable. I highly recommend visiting this beautiful store! Ruth had the shipment ready and sent it within a couple of days, and I am excited to receive it. We enjoyed the experience so much, we visited her store twice more, and were invited to share lunch, Thank you so much, Ruth!

If a carpet could fly, this is definitely where you would find one. There is something almost magical about this place, as we moved from the main showroom down to a subterranean display area, with beautiful hand woven rugs at every turn. The owner, Ruth, spent time with us explaining the history, provenance and style of various rugs; and what the patterns symbolised. We didn’t appreciate that the craft of rug making was mostly mastered by women, and that each rug tells a story of its creator. This shop is well worth a visit, and will be on our list again next time we visit Goreme.

The extensive collection of rugs, pillow cases and accessories Ruth has personally reviewed and stocked, showcase the knowledge and taste of a knowledgeable trader. If you have the time, and I suggest you do, Ruth's extensive knowledge of carpets, tribal nuances, fabrics and processes is extensive and very informative. This is no 'see it buy it' stop if you want to really know and love the carpet that will be special to you for years. With patience and genuine care with no hard sell, Ruth, with the more than capable Usman, will show you as many carpets as required and the story of each of them. If you buy, you will have a lifetime of connection with that piece of unique culture. I know we have.

There are many carpet scams in Turkey - this is NOT one of them. This is the best place to buy genuine carpets in Turkey at incredibly good prices. Ruth and her staff are highly expert and very helpful - no hard sell just patient advice. You’ll learn a lot. The collection is amazing and Siem thing for every price range. We had our carpets appraised when we returned to New Zealand and the appraiser could not believe the great price we had paid. If you want to get a carpet from Turkey or the region, I cannot recommend Tribal Collections enough - you will not regret this.

We will be arriving at Izmir airport at 11pm . Can you arrange travel to a hotel, next day sightseeing to Ephesus and pamukkale and drop at Antalya. 1 day in Ephesus and 1 day in pamukkale

we have a huge price range and a comprehensive selection that starts at $100 and goes up past 15,000$.All costs depend on the quality, age , origin and rareity of each individual rug . Please feel free to call in and browse or send me an email if you are looking for something specific online

Prices are based on several variables including the quality of materias (wool, silk, etc), size, age, origin and overall condition.Our Prices start at $80 for something very small and handmade and from there the sky is the limit.I always say to people that if you are working on budget allow between $500- $1000 for a 6ft x 4 ft carpet and that would give you a really good wide range to choose from . Under that there are also carpets but you choice is far more limited .
