Nous avons passé la journée avec Diem qui parlait très bien français.
Nous avons particulièrement aimé sa gentillesse et toutes les explications régulières qu’elle nous a données : tant sur le cours de cuisine, qu’au marché, sur le bateau ou encore dans la maison de la grand mère.

This was a highlight of our holiday in Hoi An. We did the morning market tour followed by cooking class. In the morning we met our guide Loc who took us to the food markets and explained how they use all the different fruits and vegetables. We tried a few different fruits which was great as they are no fruits we have at home. We then boarded a boat to Dong Binh Island, the journey took about 45 minutes and was relaxing. Once we arrived at Grandmas House, Loc and her colleagues showed us how rice was processed before electricity. A lot of hard work! We then had a go at making rice pancakes, not easy! The actual cooking class was a lot of fun and there was soooo much food! We really enjoyed learning the recipes and techniques and eating what we had made. We had a nice bunch of people on our tour which
made it even more enjoyable. Loc was brilliant and a lot of fun. We think the day was well worth the very reasonable price and would recommend anyone to do this cooking class. Thanks Loc and colleagues!

Une journée de rêve ! Visite du marché et découverte de tous les fruits, légumes, épices locaux, trajet en bateau jusqu’à une petite île et apprentissage de la cuisine vietnamienne. On a fait notre propre galette de riz puis 4 plats. C’est vraiment très copieux à manger mais c’est une expérience culinaire au top !!! Nous avons un restaurant en France et avons adoré cette journée de grande qualité que nous recommandons !!!

This cooking class is an experience I'll never forget! the food was delicious, the teacher was so kind and fun, and I learned so much! My partner and I are vegetarian and they had no problems accommodating us.

The best cooking class in Hoi An, and maybe in Vietnam. We had an amazing time with our cooking teacher and we learned a lot of things. Thank you for everything. We recommand 100%.

Really enjoyable experience, I have done cooking schools before but being in grandma’s garden, with its chickens and trees, what a lovely experience! And it all starts with a 20+ minute boat ride upriver.
We did the market tour and class, leaving absolutely full with very happy memories and recipes to try at home. Diem was a delightful host, there were multiple helpers to ensure a smooth experience. Highlight of my Vietnam visit.

To get in touch with locals, learn local methodes and take a look to the country side of Hoi An, you should do this cooking class. By visiting the local market, you get a lot of information about local food and farmers. After that you make a boat and cycling trip to the villages where you finally cook a great menue of vietnamese food. It was no problem to have vegan and vegetarian options and it tasted really good. Thank you, Mesa, for your effort!

We had an AMAZING time during this cooking class.
All the staff, especially our guide Diem, were kind and knowledgeable. The bike route to the cooking class is enjoyable in itself, with plenty of opportunities to snap some great pictures.
The cooking class itself struck a good balance between doing things yourself and getting some help. Afterwards, we received a great booklet in order to recreate all the recipes we cooked on this day.

The meeting point was in old Hoi An, right by the market. We had our guide take us and then you have the option of biking or taking a boat to Grandma's house with Thom. We took the boat there and biked back and both were great! I think you could get a taxi there easily if you are not staying nearby.

If you like to do the market tour before the cooking class add 7,50 usd.
