Parking fee applies, federal passes NOT accepted. We hiked an hour before Sundown May 6th, cool weather. We obsoletely love the beauty, near Sedona like scenery with colorful granite, some juniper trees mixed in, cactus, some flowers, etc.
We have a small dog and took her on this hike and it was not too strenuous for her, just perfect.
Simply beautiful and please bring your kids on this one! Best fairly easy hike for families in the area and the kids will love the rocks and boulders. Just be mindful of rattlesnakes, however we did not see any but they have been sighted on other trails in recent weeks with the warner weather. A must do while in Prescott....

The variety of trails make this the best hike in Prescott. The parking fee is a reasonable $3.00. Take plenty of water.

This trail has very little shade compared to other trails in the area. Best to save this one for cooler days. Because it is exposed, snow melts faster here and mud dries up faster. That makes this a better choice than most other local trails after a winter storm. The main loop has some smaller trails within it so you have choices in terrain and difficulty. The lower part of the loop is easy but the rest of the trail has some rocky areas.

This is an very well-marked trail. We completed the loop in a little under an hour. There are some rocks which require some climbing but nothing too strenuous. You are pretty close to the main road at many points, so you can still hear the street traffic, but the views are quite nice. Saw many people out with their dogs. The parking is convenient ($3) and has bathroom facilities.

The trail is quite rocky. I just went on a short loop, just to check it out. It was around 11:00 am. Way too hot for my dog and I. I will try it when the weather is cooler.

My daughter and I took a few of the Constellation Trails. The scenery was great and the trails easy! The only issue we had was following what appeared to be trails, but were not. The Hully Gully trail was really fun walking over and in between the huge boulders. This is a great trail system for all level hikers! It’s a must do when in Prescott!

Not too long or too short of a hike. We liked that it was a loop hike and that you didn’t know what you were going to see until you got higher and around the backside of some trees. It was so unexpected to see the mountain formations and the different markings on the rocks. Don’t pass the trial by. It took us less than 2 hours to hike and we are in our early 60’s!

If you do not have a lot of time for a long hike, the loop trails here can provide a wide range of trail length. Just do the outer loop for about a 3 mile hike or one of the smaller loops if you have less time or energy. or combine more than one if you want a longer experience. You are also rewarded with some great views of the granite dells, many from within them. If you do the outer loop and want a really special view, climb the unofficial trail up from the bench at the highest point of the loop and you will see a long way to the west. You can even hike down the trail on the other side, which is part of the Willow lake system.

When I have an hour to hike, I head to the Constellation Trail. Some of the best views of the Granite Dells rock formations and a very well marked spider web of trails so you can't get lost and never get bored hiking in the area. Thanks to the City of Prescott and the Over the Hill Gang of volunteers, the trails are well maintained and there is a map at every intersection. The new traffic circle and parking lot are a nice addition. Remember to pick up after your dog!

A variety of trails are available that provide hikers of all ages & abilities a great experience in the Dells. Even mountain bikers can access these trails. The views and rock formations are among the best in the area. The trailhead is conveniently located across from the Phipen Museum on Route 89 Nort of Prescott.

It can take up to 1 hour 22 minutes about 8800 steps≈3 miles given the terrain over the rocks if you trail blaze and go to the top to see Willow Lake. If you stay on all of the lower trails it is quite easy.As Bob said above, get the map or just read the posted maps in the ground. Follow the white dots on the rocks.
