Amazing, this wonderful little museum was on the way back to the car park, it was 3:40 and we asked if 20 mins was enough time to get around, the lovely gent at the front desk said no it does normally take a bit longer to take it all in, but he would stay over closing time to make sure we got round! How thoughtful! So much information and displays! I didn’t realise how much a fossil could tell you! Clearly a lot of effort has gone into the museum over the years! There’s a few exhibits that made me laugh…. The dinosaur battle zone, The little comic strips here and there! Fully recommend if you are in the Lyme Regis area! And thank you so much for staying over so we could get around the place without rushing

The name is totally misleading as this is a man and his wife's personal collection of fossils displayed wonderfully in a grade 1 listed church. We thought it would be all silly models of dino's, but far from it. Plenty to interested children, the casual visitor and the serious enthusiast. They have a strong ethos about how they build and display their collection, and this created a friendly casual atmosephere.

WE LOVE THIS PLACE! Its an absolute gem, full of so many things to see, fascinating collections that have clearly been loved and put together. We went on our daughters birthday and the owner was amazing to her and it made her day. We can't wait to come back.

A lovely, quirky museum filled with stories as well as artefacts- it feels like looking a huge personal collection with plenty of interesting pieces. An amazing achievement to set this up :) we loved it!

This is an extraordinary place: quirky, unique, and ever so slightly bonkers. It is the personal collection of Steve Davies, a famous palaeontologist, who displays his thousands and thousands of fossils large and small, many collected locally in Dorset. These are crammed floor-to-ceiling into an old church and supported by some very good written information, charts, historical explanation, and so on. Not for everyone I suspect, but for me the overall effect was mesmerising - you can learn such a lot from the displays. And thought-provoking too - tells us so much about where we came from. Unmissable.

This collection is the result of the owners life time work. We were lucky to meet him and what a pleasant man he is. The building is packed with exhibits. Every step was fascinating and all for an entry fee of £6! We will go back.

It is definitely a must see in Lyme Regis due to its extensive collection of fossils. The price is fair and it’s just amazing walking around the vast amount of fossils.
The part I enjoyed the least is the taxidermy at the end, but it’s a fair continuing of the fossils as it kinda follows the evolution journey.
One criticism is that the place is very very dusty, and (for those like me is very allergic) it can be a bit of a challenge.

What a brilliant museum!
Not a slick establishment but the concerted efforts of a couple who have created an inspiring story of our ancestors through a lifetime of amassing some wonderful collections constantly added to with their own finds. True expert and creative successors to the dedication acknowledged today of their local and famous Lyme Regis predecessor, Mary Anning.

Wow - this was a surprisingly extensive collection of fossils and gems packed in to every space possible.
Very friendly, approachable.
My daughter absolutely loved it and was excited to see so many massive fossils.
The owner told us he has been collecting for 28 years and was still adding new pieces every week. If you remember, take him some cake!!
We loved this place and would definitely go back for another look!

I’m afraid not. It’s a small place with narrow pathways. The pathways are narrow to allow more space for the exhibits. There are some parts where a wheelchair can pass by, but definitely not upstairs. There are windy stairs leading upstairs where a wheelchair will definitely not fit. And no lift. Really sorry.
