This was our first booking with Silverline, we booked through Hoseasons. Everything from start to finish was great. I was told the boat would be ready from 1pm, we arrived just after and the booking in process was quick, hassle free and efficiently done. The boat was ready and waiting. Once we had done our test run with the instructor we were off. The boat itself, Silver Mist was fantastic, quite small even for just the two of us compared to the larger boats we have been on before but was spotlessly clean, cosy, had everything we needed and we didn't have any problems with it and soon adjusted to the smaller space. Dual steering so can be driven from inside or up on top deck which is a great bonus, we specifically booked this boat for this feature. There's a seated area at the front of the boat which was brilliant to sit out in the sunshine and especially for the fishing we did instead of having to get off the boat and fish from the land. We didn't go too far, moored up on the first night at Cantley, there's a pub there and it was a great spot. The next day we travelled up to Loddon where there is a village with shops, takeaways and pubs also a DIY shop that sold the fishing bits and bobs we wanted. On the last night we wanted to moor near to the boat yard as we had to be back by 8.30am, I called the boat yard to ask the name of the pub that was close and the lady was very knowledgeable and helpful so we reserved a spot at the Ferry House pub where we had an evening meal and there was no charge for mooring over night. All the places we moored at were free for 24 hours and there were plenty. Our holiday was during half term so expected it to be busy but it was very quiet, last year we were in Stalham which was very busy and not really much around whereas this time we were at the opposite end and found this a lot more enjoyable so would definitely recommend and come back to this area.

Excellent boat, instructor and holiday, sadly certain members of staff let the whole experience down. The owner (father) is reasonably polite but his oldest son is simply rude, sarcastic and should clearly not be in a client facing role. I would have assumed this was possibly a clash with me if it wasn't for the fact that so many other reviews say the exact same thing. Very disappointed and totally unnecessary.

As the title indicates we ere both first timers to this sort of holiday and more than a little nervous. We hired Silver Coral for a week and the boat performed flawlessly, started every time, no issues with electrics or anything else. The staff were very good and clearly they have a challenge turning round a couple of million pounds worth of boats in a few hours every Saturday, but it's all organised and works like clockwork. I guess the owner was a little tense looking, but so would I have been seeing 2 numpties in charge of my £100K investment. The 'training session' you get at the start of the cruise is never going to be adequate, I'm 71 and possibly a slower learner than I used to be, so tieing knots, stern and side on mooring are going to need a bit more sinking in (sorry), than a younger person; I wouldn't have minded paying for a couple of hours more thorough training here and it would have helped our holiday immensely. On the first day by the time we had control of the boat it was getting late in the day and we were advised to head up river towards Norwich and moor at Surlingham.... good advice as you have to be moored before it gets dark.... but it was stern on mooring and that proved a real challenge for me, boats don't have rear view mirrors; you can line up the stern of the boat with the available gap between other moored boats but the tide will soon take you one way or another.... really scarey. But you soon find out that the boating community in general are VERY helpful and after 15 minutes of demonstrating my inadequacies 3 chaps came to the bank to lend a hand. This proved to be the case almost everywhere we went. The Norfolk Broad rangers at Reedham were TREMENDOUSLY helpful both with mooring, casting off, knots the whole business, thanks Dave and Craig. So, did we enjoy it, YES, but there were a few scarey moments. Prepare well, learn a few simple mooring knots, download the AWEIGH app, free and extremely useful, but a copy of Collins Nicholson Waterways Guides for the Norfolk Broads, about £10, well worth it. Study the tide times, learn to moor into the flowing tide. Buy a couple of £1 electric connection cards, not everywhere has an electric hook up but in September it can get cold at night and the boat heating is useful, take an extra blanket at this time of year. Don't worry about making mistakes, everyone does and you won't get laughed at, well not much! ENJOY.

The boat was good, well presented, clean and everything worked as it should, so we were thinking about booking with Silverline next year, but on returning to the yard, the older lady was incredibly rude to us, so we will be voting with our feet.

All the other people at the yard were lovely, but whoever this woman is, she needs retraining, retiring or moving to a non customer facing role.

For the life of me I don’t know what we had done to warrant her attitude. We returned early, the boat was undamaged and in the same condition as we had taken it. We were overly polite as had been so happy with everything the yard had done.

We will be booking elsewhere for next year. My apologies to the rest of Silverline as you are great. Just pension off the old woman.

Horrendous place, wouldn't allow us to go on the expensive holiday we'd booked as they decided our dog was too big.

They were rude and didn't even want to return our fuel deposit.

We lost hundreds of pounds to these disgusting people.

No problems at all with the boat which was clean and what you would expect for an older vessel - a couple of minor niggles but nothing that caused any real inconvenience.

Excellent service from the young man who showed us around the boat and made sure we knew how to drive it.

However the treatment from the older lady, who from reading other reviews I can only assume is Lesley, was absolutely disgusting. Our confirmation said check in from 1430. The day before we started our holiday I had a voicemail message saying that the boat would be ready "any time from about 1pm".

We arrived at 1pm on the dot, and I walked into reception with my sixteen week old puppy in my arms, as it was 37° out and far too hot for his little paws on the tarmac outside. We were greeted with this harpie shrieking "No dogs!". I replied that he couldn't be set down outside as it was too hot, only for her to shriek again "No dogs allowed inside!'. A great start for a business that advertises itself as pet friendly.

The excellent hospitality continued as I was told "We've been waiting for you to show up so we can go home." I reiterate, this was at 1pm, exactly when I had been advised I could arrive from. When I said this I was told "No, I said get here at twelve." Well, Lesley, you didn't and I checked my voicemail to confirm that I was not mistaken. Anyway, what if I was otherwise engaged in the morning?

We were told to "hurry up and unload your stuff onto the boat so we can check you in." Within about three minutes of moving things from the car to the boat we were approached again and told to "finish what you're doing and check in now."

A shame that an otherwise great trip got off to such a rocky start through the fault of one horrible woman who clearly should not be allowed anywhere near customers. If this is the way she treats her clients then I dread to think how she speaks to her poor staff. Lesley, if you want to go home so badly then maybe you should just stay there.

To break this 3/5 down we will start with the positives…….

The boat - we stayed on ‘Silver Harmony’. Nice little boat, good size for 2 people. Very clean when we boarded and the kitchen was very well stocked with equipment. The gas was plentiful for our needs and the hot water was boiling.
Reece - our young instructor who showed us around the boat, and taught us basic skills required to manoeuvre the boat. He showed us how everything worked and was kind, fun and a pleasure.
Chris when we returned our boat was also friendly and welcoming.
The skipper manual included everything we needed to know.
Overall happy with the boat.
Very modern marina.

Ok negatives……..

The size of the bed - appreciate it is a small boat but if you are above 5ft 6 you won’t be able to stretch your legs out and it is a small double so is snug in width.
The bathroom needs updating, although all worked fine.
BUT and this is the biggest let down to the company………..
The proprietor’s themselves!
We arrived as instructed at 14:05 (our check in time was 14:00 and was greeted by a very angry woman and man (the proprietors) say they had tried to phone us to collect the boat early as they had to send staff home because it was so hot - we hadn’t seen the missed call as we had travelled 2 hours and as it’s always a strict check in time in nearly every place you go, we arranged our day around that time. They were very frosty and angry that we were ‘on time’. She was waving some document at my partner saying ‘is this your number because you weren’t answering’ We were getting told off as if we were late! He was even a bit off that we had to pay for parking on the card as he wanted cash - don’t carry cash anymore.
When they were going through the skipper manual they were rude and disinterested and we felt we were being rushed and like they just wanted to get rid of us.
On our return the woman blanked us, no welcome back did you have fun etc…..nothing, and he seemed totally disinterested just check out and go. Rude doesn’t cut it!
We may have given it a 4/5 but sadly their customer service was so bad that we just cannot - Reece needs to take over the company and show them how to speak to people because that young man is wonderful! We saw him on our return and he immediately asked us if we had a good time!

Unfortunately we won’t be returning to Silverline Marina

sack all the staff and employ new people with manners. we booked this holiday July 2021 through Hoseasons holidays.i searched for dog friendly boats in the South broads.silverline marine came up.i saw a boat that we thought would suit us with our 9 year old rescue dog.i paid the deposit straight away.i was quite excited about the fact we had booked for the South broads as previously we had taken our dog on Herbert woods boats and Brinks at wroxham who are very pet friendly. a few days later I looked on the silver marine boatyard website and saw at the bottom of the page it said only small dogs allowed ie dashunds and jack Russell's. I contacted Hoseasons immediately saying our dog was a cross breed a bit bigger than a staffordshire bull terrier. someone named penny from Hoseasons emailed me back saying she had checked with the boat yard and they replied saying I would have to pay an extra £30 deposit this was on top of the £70 we had been charged for our dog I didn't mind as she is 9 well behaved and never goes on the furniture anyway. when we arrived we were told to park near to our boat, then an old man came over saying angrily and pointing to our dog."that's not coming on any of our boats". Then an older woman came out saying pretty much the same. Then a younger man around 40 age arms folded in an angry manner and a woman the same as him just stood around us saying we couldn't go on our boat that had been all arranged 11 months previously. We had travelled 4 hours by car to be told pretty much to leave.i said what were we supposed to do and they all shrugged their shoulders and said not their problem. the older woman went off to phone Hoseasons for them to sort it out.we left the boatyard feeling very sick. Waiting at a nearby cafe my brother who had travelled up to go with us was waiting we told him everything what had happened and he said he arrived about an hour early and checked at the boat yard to see if it was ready any earlier for us the older man snapped at him and said 2pm. clearly these people need personality transplants

We hired Silver Mystique for 4 nights in early May. Apart from strange Customer Awareness by the proprietors mentioned by many we had a lovely time. The boat was spotless on handover and as 'first time boaters ' we found the boat handled very well. The bow thrusters were a godsend.
Reece(?) our instructor was told to speed up by a lady (who we assumed was one of the proprietors) as there was allegedly a queue forming and so our mooring instruction was somewhat curtailed.
The cabin door lock would not operate due to a dropped door which we reported on our return.
The staff were very friendly but it was the owners attitude that stopped us giving 5 stars.
However, forwarned is forarmed and this would not stop us from using Silverline again.
Overall, a great holiday. With good pubs (Ferry House in particular)

We had the boat Silver Symphony for 1 week. The boat was spotlessly clean.
The reception people were frosty and rude we were obviously an inconvenience. The guy conducting the boat handover was knowledgeable and friendly.
On Thursday we returned to the yard to have the tank emptied but we're told the pump was being repaired. I offered to return tomorrow but was told not to as that was changeover day and to go to another yard and pay. I did this expecting a refund. At the end of the trip the refund was refused.
At handover I also reported a battery issue which meant we only just started on cold morning's and lost bowthrusters. This was not recorded so I assume the next person to hire the boat will suffer.
I am unable to recommend Silverline Marine, the boat was good but customer service is Faulty towers.
