Great value, lovely friendly spa but shame about the recent changes

스파를 방문해 본 친구들이 라 몇 번 에 처음 방문한 이후에 - 행사를 하는 남편과 연 이 생일 선물. 따뜻하게 맞아 주는 직원들 덕분에 우리는 객실로 변경. 방은 작았지만 변경, 추가로 샤워 부스 공간 을 조금 더 추가 및 변경. 가운과 슬리퍼는 제공되는 무료로 제공되는 사용할 수 있지만 다른 사람들이 더 나은 품질의 스파 빌리지, 좋은 직원들 –. 스파에 들어서, 첫 번째 주요 변경 한 것은 온실 에는 앉을 수 있는 다과 및 / 지금은 완전히 사라는 벽, 뒤에 있는 것을 다시 한 번 있었는데 지금은 windows 월풀 욕조 벽면. 이같은 느낌보다는 어둡고 폐쇄 해 이제 - 그리고 큰 그룹의 일부이면 (저는 자주) 에 앉아서 이야기를 정말 어디 없습니다. 하지만 나는 일부 사람들이 변경을 안고 정말 실망 했습니다. 또한 야외 사우나 가 있다. 모든 시설이 - 스팀 룸, 족욕 사우나, 자쿠지, 월풀 욕조, 샤워 시설 및 휴식 공간 감각이 전에 감동되지 않고 정확히 일치합니다. 남편은 마사지를 즐길 수 있는 한 그는 다시 좋은 오후. 나는 내 친구들을 다시는 예약을 할 때 항상 특별한 이벤트를 즐길 수 있어. 예약 시 3 시간 또는 이벤트에 대해 원하는 아쿠아 휴게실에 가 정말 그런 기분이 지원하지만 가격 대비 좋은 좋은 사람들이 자신을 치료 하는 것이 지역에 있다.

Dreadful ..... just dreadful - and that's just trying to book !! No one ever answers the phone or calls back - no one replies to emails unless chased for days ...and days. No apology for not responding - literally no #@*! given ! Gave up in the end and booked elsewhere.Literally impossible to get anywhere with this lot.

I love alton towers and when I visited this spa a few years ago, I had a wonderful time and wanted to repeat the experience but this time I was incredibly disappointed by the customer service and booking system.
I tried to call multiple times, leaving voicemails requesting a call back in order to book as I had a 2 week window in which I could go at any point and needed to know what sort of availability was possible so I could arrange my days- as this was my primary want, I wanted to arrange my other days around my spa day.
No one answered the phone, no one called back.
I tried to book via the online form which gives you a calendar of all days and you just have to hope there is availability on that day and request a booking -sadly, I randomly picked a Tuesday which I was eventually responded to to be told that they were closed on Tuesdays with no further information. No reference to any other availability, and I emailed back asking for other availability and received no response either.
Absolutely terrible booking system, and really bad customer service. It's a miracle you get any customers as I'm not sure how anyone is actually able to make a booking with you.

Wow!! The spa staff were amazing. We visited on Sunday to celebrate my nieces birthday and make some memories with my sister who has teminal Cancer. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Always asking if they could anything for us. Nothing was to much trouble! I just want to say a massive thank you for making our trip so special and a time we will always remember together. You really made the day truly special for us.🥰

Finding it impossible to book…
The number on my voucher is no longer available, nobody responds to emails and I’ve left multiple voice mails on the other phone number I looked up….

Fantastic experience great, treatments were great the spa facilities are excellent and the staff were great special shout out to Lorraine who done my treatment today 21/3/22 very good.

Have visited this spa several times and it’s definitely the best I’ve visited for value for money. Staff are really friendly and have been very accommodating about me needing to change my booking due to covid, they couldn’t be more helpful.

I came to Alton Towers Spa as a 21st birthday treat and being a regular spa go'er wasn't sure if the Alton Towers spa would be as specialised as others i'd been to. I was wrong!! The spa had a load of facilities ( even more than some high end spas ive visited!) this was perfect as it was a little busy on the Saturday so meant we had more space to branch out and fully relax. The staff were lovely and very attentive; we needed to change a treatment time to fit with the rest of our day and Natalie took care of it and made sure there were no clashes ( recommend going in person to make any treatment time changes). Once we'd finished our treatments we were able all sit in the treatment room and wait for my auntie to finish her manicure, where we were all offered tea and biscuits. Last but not least the staff surprised me with a HUGE birthday balloon and bottle of prosecco which was not expected at all and really topped the day off. The treatment rooms were also designed really nice and gave off Mediterranean vibes. Overall a great day thank you to Holly, Natalie, Iona and the lovely older lady who did my nans facial and massage (I'm so sorry I didn't grab your name!)

As with any review this is based on our personal experience only. On arrival the team were very friendly We were given a card with the time of our treatments and a key for a shared locker. The changing rooms were very small and the locker not really big enough for two. We were not shown any of the facilities and disappointingly there were no loungers by the pool area to lounge on / read a magazine. The pool was warm but could be warmer. The foot spas cold and the sauna room not the best. The reception area and the treatment rooms were cold which wasnt ideal for a massage. Myself and a friend had the same package but our massages were totally different as was the facial. My friends did not include several elements that mine did so she was very disappointed. :Lunch was in the main area which was a little walk, but this meant you had to walk through the hotel lobby in your robe with all of the hotel guests milling around. Lunch was OK Burger and chips Pizza or salad With churros for dessert. However drinks were extra) £3.30 for a coke) which meant walking all the way back to the spa area to get money to pay for a drink at the end of the meal. Overall the spa is in need of a rethink in terms of positioning and layout. The team also need to be delivering the same level of experience to all customers. Sorry but we wont be returning and do not think the overall experience was value for money.

Before you read this review I need to point out I have written to both the spa and Alton Towers through their feedback format to try and discuss our trip. I eventually got an e-mail from the spa manager asking if she could call me on a specific day to discuss our visit, which gave me some hope that they were willing to improve their service as I actually really love Alton Towers and used to work there years ago so wanted to try and resolve this rather than write this review. However, its coming up to a month since we visited and I would rather warn people to spend their money somewhere where they will get what they paid for rather than the experience we had. I'm going to copy my complaint letter rather than write it all again. My personal opinion is don't go. Find somewhere else that cares about its customers and the staff aren't just trying to get off early.

I am e-mailing regarding a recent visit to your spa on a pamper day package which we found to be below par for what we paid.
A friend and myself paid £98 each for a days use of your spa facilities, with lunch included and a spa treatment. (We both chose a full body massage.)
We arrived on Sunday 23rd Jan 2022 having paid fully before arriving, so as we could just enjoy the day and fully relax.
On arrival after filling in our forms we were given our locker keys, told where the changing rooms were, given a card with times for our massages on, literally two times both at the the end of the day, and told it didn't matter which of us went at which time. And the lunch time was also wrote on as well.
The girl at the desk did tell us where everything was but didn't get up to show us any facilities, or asked us if we had been before so we took our keys and thought maybe it's not a service you offer due to covid.

When we went into the changing rooms I opened my locker, took out my robe, which hadn't got a towel like my friends, no worries. Can cope without one.
What I wasn't overly pleased with was the used disposable mask that came out with it. I could tell it was used as it had make up on the inside, it was coloured with foundation and lipstick marks as well as being pinched on the nose area as the disposable masks are meant to be. So I threw that away and carried on getting ready for our spa day.

After scouting round the spa and finding everything ourselves, including the outside sauna, and water cooler which we were mislead to believe was supposed to have tea, coffee and fruit available throughout the day as per your brochure, but there was literally just a water cooler and a dispenser of some coloured liquid that wasn't labelled so we just stuck to the water. We saw someone actually taking a group of people and showing then around. So we then felt quite annoyed that we didn't get the same privilege.
We then tried the footspas, only for just one of the 3 to be working. I did ask someone about them and she got one more to work but the middle one remained out of order for the rest of our visit, however, nothing was put there to make any of the other guests aware which was an annoyance as I had to let another 3 people know that that foot spa wasn't working when they tried sit next to their friends working footspa. We understand things break but at least let your guests know rather than just leaving it faulty and having other guests keep informing them. It was an annoyance and I couldn't sit there resting watching people try it when I knew it didnt work! Put a sign up. Not exactly the relaxing atmosphere I'd hoped for.

When we went for lunch, as it had said lunch was included, we left everything in our locker and went to the secret garden in our robes. When we got there I noticed that the drinks menu all had prices next to it....I asked if they were included and was told no. I told the waiter we hadn't bought our cards with us as we thought lunch and therefore drinks were included and as we weren't informed otherwise we had no form of payment on us, would it be OK if we ordered and went to get our cards. He said it was OK but did express concerns as people have left without paying before. We would have no problem paying for drinks if we had been informed before so we knew just to bring a form of payment. Thankfully the waiter was extremely nice and understanding, took our order  then one  one of us stayed at the table whilst the other went back to get a card to pay with.

The meal however we felt really wasn't  justified for the money we paid. We chose a salad and we had to ask for some chicken to be added as there wasn't any meat options on any of the salads and when it came it was in a small bowl, it was just lettuce, ceaser dressing, half a boiled egg and 4 pieces of chicken. My friend pointed out that it should have croutons so she asked the staff and they bought out some croutons but the size and quality of our meal in comparison to the burgers and pizzas others had was so poor. We were hungry for the rest of the day.

And lastly. The massages. I went first and the girl doing mine asked my name and was confused that i wasnt my friend, i said that we were told it could be any of us and we are just having the same back to back. She had started writing out paperwork with my friends name on....so why tell us it doesnt matter if the therapist has us in an order?! Then in the actual massage the music kept jumping so was very off putting, whilst trying to relax. The massage itself would of been really good if the music hadn't of been so distracting.
Then afterwards whilst my friend was having hers, I asked someone what time we needed to leave (again was never informed) and I she told me it closes at 5....which made me wonder why the last 55 minute massage was booked in at 3:45....especially when you get told to go sit in the spa for 10 mins after....that meant my friend was going to have to rush her shower to get out on time.
After my friend had finished her massage, she went in the sauna as recommended, only to find her robe which she had hung up with her phone in had been took away. She came out and a lady at reception was standing there holding it and said "oh I thought you had finished" then after we rushed to get out for 5pm (fantastic end to a supposed relaxing day) we handed our keys to reception and the lady there said " Thanks for this ladies, we really appreciate it." I looked at her confused and she then said "you have both been before haven't you?" My friend then clarified that I haven't and she has but a very long time ago. To which she replied "Oh, have a good night" and we left. Which I felt was quite bizarre, so we checked the times on your website and it says that the spa closes at 6pm not 5pm like we were told.

So it wasn't exactly the relaxing, luxury day I'd hoped for and don't feel we got what we paid for in all honesty.

This is the e-mail I sent describing our day. It's everyone's own choice what you do but I'd highly recommend not wasting your money here if you want a good quality spa day.
