Great visit museum closing in November until 2024 for refurbishment.
We enjoyed the minibus trip around the circuit very good guide.
Sadly the café next door was not open which was strange but a walk to Speedway Main Street for refreshment is worth it !

The museum was awesome! Indy winners (and others) all over the place. This is definitely a place you have to visit. When you're here, you MUST take the "kiss the bricks" tour- it enhances the experience!

Great day at the the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Was in one of the tower suites, fully catered with bar. The servers were so kind and helpful. Our business event included basically all access passes. To receive the pit passes, you simply just had to scan a QR code, answer some questions, take a picture of yourself and surrender your drivers license while walking the grounds. Very easy. When first built it originally had about 3.2 million paving bricks. These bricks were laid in a way that created a “brickyard” racing surface, hence its nickname. The first Indy 500 race took place in 1911, covers 560 acres, making it one of the largest sports facilities in the world. Today, we got to meet Tony Kanaan, who has a great story to tell. He was the Indianapolis 500 winner in 2013 and the IndyCar Series champion in 2004. Cool place. Wear comfortable shoes, the place is giant and you will walk a lot! Parking in the grass lot next to the speedway was 10.00, and a 3 minute walk to the entrance. TY IN.

If you like cars and history you will love this place! A real step back in time with lots to see and do, real cars and real exhibits with minimal digital recreation so felt like a proper museum. Would recommend

Eu que nem achei que era tudo isso, adorei! Os carros são lindos, estão inteiros, desde o primeiro que ganhou a primeira corrida, a mais de 100 anos. Lembram de um desenho bem antigo chamado Corrida Maluca, eram esses carros.

Fun time for all. Saw some cars racing/practicing on the track. Great to watch and hear! A lot of wonderful race cars on display, old and new. Plenty of information available. Different admission options and tours, and prices. Very clean. Restrooms and gift shop. Lovely grounds. Plenty of free parking.

We arrived too late in the day to get a tour, however, we were able to see it from the outside and get a view of the speedway which was nice.

Wat een heerlijke plek dit! Samen met mijn zoon dit museum en circuit bezocht. Je komt al binnen op een bijzondere manier, namelijk onder de tribunes door van het circuit. Het museum is niet groot maar zeker een must om te zien. Mede door de enthousiaste ontvangst van de medewerkers. Hoe leuk is het dat je een gesprekje hebt over types van auto's en dat er boekjes bijgehaald worden met resultaten van races uit het verleden? Nog meer info? Dan halen we er toch een collega bij die meer weet van het specifieke autotype. Wij hebben genoten van het museum en hun medewerkers. O ja, doe vooral ook een rondje over het circuit. Een erg leuke ervaring!

This was my absolute favorite experience in Indy. We came here for a "Kiss The Bricks" Tour, then explored the IMS Museum. I was like a kid in a candy store, reveling in the speed and horsepower that was in front of my eyes. The simulator was fun to "drive" and the old show car begs to be sat in just to get the claustrophobic feeling that the drivers live in during the races. The entire staff was friendly and knowledgeable but in the end however, the cars are just simply amazing to lust over.

Esperamos su visita. Creo que necesitarás 90 minutos, dependiendo de su nivel de interés--30 minutos para el tour de "kiss the bricks" y 60 minutos para visitar el Musuem. Buen viaje.

Do you have wheelchairs or motorized vehicle available for handicapped?

Yes, we have wheelchairs available. The museum and several of our tour buses are wheelchair accessible. We do not have motorized scooters.
Am going to the museum in August. Do they sell food there? A sandwich shop or cafe perhaps?

The Museum does not have a restaurant or food service. During race events, practices days, etc. there is a small food stand, the Coca-Cola Pit Stop, in a small building next to the Museum. Otherwise, there are many good restaurants on Main Street in Speedway, just two or three minutes away. And, there are a number of fast food places northwest of the track on Crawfordsville Road, five to seven minutes away.

The VIP Grounds Tour, Golf Cart Tour, and Kiss the Bricks Tour will get you on the track at the yard of bricks right next to the Pit area.
I have driven pace laps in my own car on several NASCAR tracks and would like to add the famous IMS to my list. I have heard this is possible. Could you let me know if it os and what the dates and requirements would be?

There are no regularly scheduled times to drive one's car on the track. At most this may happen once a year, but is generally not available to the public. One may pay to be driven in a race car on the track and on occasion it is possible to ride in a pace car. Indy Racing Experience has information on such options.

You can purchase general admission tickets at the track the day if show. You can purchase car day in advance from the track. Or keep an eye on creigslist Sometimes you can get a good deal on tickets and or suits

Tours and other activities at the track can be found at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum (tours) and at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway websites. Trip Advisor does not allow us to post websites. That for the Museum is all one word: indy racing museum, followed by period and "org."
