We enjoyed the prairie hike and then walked to Molly Lake. Saw lots of blooming flowers, butterflies, and even a young family of mink by the lake. Pleasant park, would go again!

Beautiful park with so much to do! The campground was great. Cute little beach, fishing dock, great hiking, lots of wildlife. Park rangers were great, and site host too! Hot showers and nice size campsites.

We stopped at Glendalough state park to do a little hiking. We drove through the park. It was pretty busy. It has a lot of paved trails so there were a lot of bikers around.

We did the Prairie Hill trail. It started out in the woods, but soon went to a prairie and up a hill. Unfortunately there were power lines over the trail, so it didn’t feel like you were out in nature.

Amazing park. I walk here when staying at our lake home. Beautiful trails. Well-maintained. Very clean and a place to get close to nature.

The bike around the lakes in the park was beautiful, with fall colors near or at peak. Absolutely must see the beach at the old lodge. Sugar sand and crystal clear water.

I've been coming to this park for 7 years.
It was a place of nature and pure serenity.
That is gone.
Since they opened after Covid the place is completely changed. They fired all the staff and hired teenagers who zip around the park in golf carts all day. They watch you like they are the police. If they are dumping the trash by the showers they will stop what they are doing just to stare at you and watch you go by. When you leave your campsite they will take the wood from your campsite even though you have already paid for it and intended it to be there for the next person. You are no longer allowed to pay it forward.
When we reported bear scat they did not deal with the situation in any way. I don't think they knew what scat is.
When I talked to them about their behavior they were rude and condescending.
If things don't change I will never go back to this park. The staff have ruined it.

One of our favorite state parks for families/kids (the other is Glacial Lakes). The campground is clean, quiet, family friendly, and beautiful. It is a cart in campground, so you will have to cart in your stuff, even if staying in a cabin. We stayed in a camper cabin and it was great. Annie Battle Lake is clean and clear, great for swimming. There is a small store on the way to the lake that sells everything you need. The store also rents bikes, canoes, kayaks, and other stuff if you want to do something besides swim. The town of Battle Lake is only 5 minutes away if you need anything or want to go out to eat. The bathrooms were clean and everyone was respecting social distancing and mask wearing.
Things to bring:
fitted sheet for the mattresses in the camper cabins, plus a mattress pad if you want to make it comfier.
DEET bug spray. The campground is in the woods and there are bugs.
Lighter fluid or firestarter kit, the firewood did not come with those little firestarter bundles. Axe or hatchet to chop the wood into kindling.
Toys, noodles, floaties for the beach. Bring all the beach stuff. Water shoes if you want to float down the river.
Fan for the inside of the camper cabin, they have electricity.
Masks - you are supposed to wear your mask inside the bathroom and if you go into town

We pulled in late, 11:30 on a wednesday. The park was easy to find, even in the middle of the night. Clear signs posted for the cart in sites which were a mile or so into the park. Once at the entrance to the cart in sites, we found our parking spot and began unloading.

The carts are located fairly close to the parking area, as is the fire wood (lots of seasoned popple and oak, good and dense). The trail to the site, the individual sites, and the entirety of the park are well maintained. The bathroom facilities are spacious, well lit,and incredibly clean. The few park staff we ran into over the three days were very friendly and inviting, leaving us feeling quite welcome in the park.

IT CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH that wildlife is active in the park. They will eat any food that is left out. There are storage benches that are big enough to fit a midsize cooler and three paper grocery bags. They can be locked, but a caribeener is enough to protect against the raccoons.

Additionally, it should be stated this is a very in-the-woods camp. Bugs are bountiful, and will take liberties with your boundaries. Be kind, and remember that you are in their home. I made friends with a thousand or so daddy-long-legs, befriended a few orb weaver spiders, and saw a happy mother wood spider carrying her brood of spiderlings. Alongside the arachnids, there were countless species of moth, crane fly and other insect homies. We were surprised by the little walking stick we found on our tent, and in relocating him to a more hospitable area, we found a monarch butterfly catterpillar setting up his transformation station. Photos attached :)

Things to bring - water storage, bug spray, flashlights for night travel on the trail, a telescope to see the amazing night sky, binoculars to get an up close view of the bountiful wildlife.

We're making reservations for next year, and will continue until we cannot any longer.

I loved both lakes! Crystal clear water. A small creek for tubing. Bring along some tubes. The park is near a town with all amenities that you may need. Friendly park staff.

We really liked the "cart-in" campground, since we are tent campers. The bike trails are great. But FYI - I found 3 tics on myself while there or returning home. We determined they were dog tics.
