This is not a stand alone activity. I recommend doing it along with Museum of the Moving Image and some Astoria dining,
You should also know modern art is not my thing, and this place is super modern and experimental. My favorite part was the architecture, lighting, and shadows. Industrial like. Makes for some great and interesting photos.
It’s free, so you have nothing to lose! Staff is very nice. Large open space. I only spent about 20 minutes here, but one could spend longer pondering the art.

Very interesting space which always offers cool art and a chill experience. I went during COVID and made an appointment online and was the only visitor there so it felt very safe. The 2 art exhibits on view were quite interesting and photographable.

One of many museums located outside of Manhattan, SculptureCenter is a hidden gem in a lesser-known part of the city. Getting there isn't difficult, as it's just a 5 minutes walk from the Court Square E/G/M/7 station (5 minutes in the other direction will take you MoMA PS1).
Admission prices are reasonable (bring your student ID!), and worth the time you'll spend in the space. There are two levels, the ground floor and the basement. Both have interesting site-specific multimedia installations. The space itself is also interesting, with high-ceilinged open space on the ground floor and low ceilings and narrow corridors in the basement. There is also an outdoor garden space, but it appeared to be closed for the winter. We will definitely return in the summer to experience the space and art in a different way.

It is a hidden place located at Purves cross street is Jackson Ave. It is between Two buildings , it has brown doors.
Once you open the doors you will find nothing but beauty, art and talent. I highly recommend to visit the sculpture center.

First visit. Went to see a Congolese folk art exhibition, i.e. clay statues covered in chocolate (yes, chocolate that you could smell all over the museum. Housed in an old warehouse building in a section of Long Island City that is fast gentrifying thus losing most of its appeal. Anyway it was an interesting visit but will not re do it.

雑誌「PEN」を読んで訪れました。ちょうど日本人の作家さんのインスタレーションをやっていました。建物は元バスの整備場だったとかで相当な趣がある場所です。作品は少々前衛的で理解には苦しみましたが、MoMA PS1のついでにいってみるのもいいでしょう。

If you like sculpture it is worth popping in for a walk around. The exhibitions are changed on a regular basis so difficult to comment on current works. Pleasant staff and peaceful area in LIC
