Nice walk to the Lighthouse at low tide. It’s a cool looking site but don’t plan more than an hour there. The B&B is very expensive and remote. Read all about it before booking a night!

We enjoyed a nice trail walk to the lighthouse and the peaceful views from there. Watch for the tidal changes to ensure you don’t get stuck on the trail. It’s posted at the start of the trail

I had spent the day touring Saugerties and ended my day visiting the lighthouse. The admission is free, which is nice and the volunteer told me on Sundays they give tours of the inside of the lighthouse so that is good to note.
For now in the warmer months there is a beautiful path to the lighthouse filled with plants, flower, small streams, beaches and the when it opens up, the most amazing views of the Hudson River and homes lining the shore.
The views of the lighthouse are so picturesque against the backdrop of the Hudson River. It must have been amazing and a little lonely for the lighthouse keeper when it was active. The views though are spectacular.

This was a short and sweet, little “hike” from the parking lot to the lighthouse. There are dirt trails and some boardwalk sections through the marsh, with benches intermittently placed. This was a great place to see birds, fishermen, wildflowers, and autumn leaves. There is a portable toilet in the parking lot. We went on a weekend, which meant that the lighthouse was closed (weird, I know – but per the website, it is because the weekend results in a crowded parking lot, so closing the lighthouse to visitors on the weekend is supposed to result in a less crowded parking lot). So, on the weekend, you can walk to the lighthouse, but not go inside. The lighthouse also serves as a 2-room bed and breakfast. I think that would be a lovely overnight stay! If you go on the weekend, the whole visit could easily be done in 30 minutes.

Actually, the visit was in 2017. It was lovely. An interesting place, very scenic, very -leasing, not crowded. Not too far out of the way.

Drove to the Lighthouse outside of the town & took the hike to the end. Beautiful setting & great view of the surrounding area. Neat hike through diverse nature & boardwalks to cross the marshes. You can rent an overnight room & stay in the Lighthouse with reservations. Saw paddle boaters & kayaks along the water. Took photos & enjoyed the sun!

Don't bother going here unless you're ready to walk through about three long stretches of swamp water. Very messy and dangerous considering there could be insects that can get into your feet. We walked through two stretches of water and turned back at third after seeing how bad it is.

Easy walk through an alternately wooded and sandy path with boardwalks. Apparently parts of the path become impassable at high tide, so it's a good idea to be aware of that before setting off. Portapotties at both ends of the path.
There are informative placards about the flora and fauna as well as some interesting history about the lighthouse, but for me the best part was enjoying the breeze and river view on the deck overlooking the river. Beautifully maintained with plants and picnic tables, this would be my regular lunchtime destination if I lived in the area.
I'm tempted to come back and rent a room so I can see the inside of the lighthouse!

Short walk of .5 miles to the lightnouse on a well maintained wooden path along the waterway to the lighthouse. Benches along the walk for those of us who can't walk easily. Nice benches and tables at end of path at the lighthouse. Very quiet and peaceful - well worth the short hike. You can even make reservations to stay overnight in the one upstairs bedroom.

We walked along the path to the lighthouse, a little bit hidden away to find, feels like your heading down a private road. Easy path & very easy stroll towards the lighthouse. Unfortunately we got there too late to visit but very nice to see & one of of the owners kindly provided some history to the lighthouse.

If this is private property, is there any restrictions about walking around there? and is there a place to park? thanks!

Parking about a half mile away from waterfront. Path to water is clearly marked and is marsh-like. You'll want to stay on the path. Wouldn't recommend for small children or if easy access is important.
