A pleasant spot for a wander with plenty of walking tracks on offer. The lake itself attracts a bit of birdlife and there are a number of historic sites and information from the early mining days.

Relaxing afternoon with family, then dinner at the boathouse on the lake, we are visiting family from the Uk, and spent the weekend in daylesford, the lake was recommended so we decided to take a small picnic, and some card games.. we spent the afternoon relaxing and watching the world go by! Great weather lots of ducks to feed too! There were quite a few people paddle boarding, we had a lovely afternoon. Highly recommend a visit for couples or families too!

We visited on Australia Day and were pleasantly surprised to find the lake bustling with families - some were relaxing on the foreshore, others were taking a dip or paddle boarding on the water. Part of the track around the lake was closed near the Beach during our visit and so we were diverted for a short time along the road. A couple of springs are nearby as well. There are plenty of benches scattered around the lake and parking was easy to find. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Generally it is difficult to get a carpark and a spot to sit and eat but we were very lucky on this very warm Sunday evening. Easy parking, bench seats and table and benches available in a great spot to look over the serene lake. Water on tap, a BBQ and good waste facilities. Also a playground for small children.

This needs to be your number must visit destination in Daylesford. A lovely walk around the lake, or a swim in the summer months. I very time we walk around the lake we discover something new. The view of the lake is always changing.

Lovely leisurely stroll around lake. Unfortunately, too many dogs off lead, dog turd land mines and dark dingy public toilet. Was hoping to hire pedal boat and have lunch, but looks like neither in operation. Pretty disappointing. So much potential on a beautiful saturday in summer on school holidays. Did see turtles in the water which was cool.

這名不見經傳的小鎮, 原來有這麼漂亮的湖光山色, 讓人想起以前的西湖。但現今西湖放上閃燈,完全不是那回事。這裏清幽淡靜, 更是名星張家輝求婚的地方。不同季節, 有不同景觀。建議不必訂湖邊餐廳, 太貴了, 可以帶食物在湖邊野餐, 另有風味。

My wife and I attended an event called "Borealis on The Lake" held at Lake Daylesford, during our recent holiday in Daylesford, where we stayed for two nights. Tickets are $20 per person.
Coined ‘Borealis on the Lake’, the immersive outdoor art installation will beam lasers over Daylesford Lake to recreate the natural phenomenon of the northern lights.
Created by Switzerland-based artist Dan Archer, the captivating display runs every Thursday to Sunday from 15 July – 4 September 2022.
It is an interesting display of technology. A minor negative is the dull and monotonous music that was played in a loop during the show.

This has been the third time I stayed at the lake house in Daylesford.
And I must say - it never disappoints with the luxury service provided by all the staff at the lake house.

I have seen dogs swimming in the lake and cannot imagine who would try to prevent them. I have seen people swimming as well.
