Absolutely fantastic display and the volunteers are awesome.

The woodworkers products for sale are the cheapest I have ever seen and so amazing.

Please stop in and have a browse well worth a visit

Timber Museum & Local History Display

We met a very friendly helpful lady in this centre. The display of life in the timber camps is well done. So much to see. There is a woodcraft workshop in a building next door which is also well worth visiting.

The lovely lady in the centre was very friendly and knowledgeable about the town and all things timber. The centre is free entry and a treasure-trove of history

Small interesting Timber Museum

The Visitor Info Centre kiosk is at the front door as you walk in and we were greeted by friendly staff. To the left is the Timber Museum which had a good display of what life used to be like which showed a Wagon Camp set up, along with different saws and a variety of wooden bowls and items you could purchase. Bought a Fridge magnet and they wrote a hand-written receipt. Next door was the Woodcrafters Workshop which had a sculpture of a man with 2 bullocks.

Excellent Display of Local Timber History

Impressive display of the history of the local timber industry. The various timber styles and sources on display is staggering. And, an extensive range of timber utensils and artworks on sale which have been crafted by local artists. Good value too.

The volunteers at the centre have a wealth of knowledge on the district

Excellent Little Museum

If passing through the small town of Wondai it's a must to stop at the timber museum and information centre in the one room building. The museum has samples names photos and stories of all timbers from the area. If you wish to stay the night just up the road is a free camp with toilets hot and cold showers.

We see a lot of information centres as we travel. The Wondai information centre is a gem. Excellent wood identification boards and the displays are so interesting. A must see.

Nice little display of history

Just amazing!!

First went into the Info Centre and staff there very informative about the history of the timber industry around there. Displays were great especially the full wall one behind the glass.So much to see in there.
Then the workshop next door with two ladies showing us how they paint very small figures for sale.

Very interesting place

The staff here were great and very informative. We got to see some lazy susans being made and some pig cuttings with a jigsaw. We got told a lot of history about all the wood/trees etc. The display inside the centre with the men sitting at their camp fire was amazing, even real human hairs on the dummies! The wall art behind it was amazing too.
