A really good experience with a great staff. This place is a blast. They also have a nice lodge area to get warm and grab something to eat.

We were in the Richmond, IN area for a weekend in January. It was averaging 10-12 degrees outside everyday, but we were looking for something FUN to do with the kids that we can't do back home. Valley's Edge Snow Tubing was just the ticket!

We drove over to Valley's Edge on Friday night to check it out with plans to actually tube on Saturday afternoon when the sun was out. It was really cool to see it at night. The snow machines were on and snow was flying high into the air. It got us really pumped to visit the next day.

The next day, we suited up in our snow pants, hats and gloves and headed out to Valley's Edge. Once we arrived at Valley's Edge, we parked in the huge gravel lot and went inside to check-in. We quickly filled out the digital waiver and proceeded to the ticket window. We were given the option of tubing for 1 hour for $12 per person or for 2 hours at the rate of $20 per person, regardless of age. Tubing is allowed for those 4 years and up. They also had a family deal that provided 2 adults/2 kids admission to snow tubing for 2 hours at a rate of $65. We ended up choosing to tube for just 1 hour. We paid and were given our jacket hang tags. We were instructed to go though the lodge and exit the rear door to pick up our snow tubes. Out back there were storage containers full of snow tubes, both kids and adult sized tubes. Here we grabbed tubes and made our way up the hill to the tow line. Once at the tow line, the worker took our tube, placed it on the ground, instructed us to sit down and hooked our tube to the line. The line pulled us all the way to the top of the hill where we were disconnected from the tow line. Here you "simply" stood up and walked a few feet over to the snow tubing hill. Getting up out of the snow tube and out of the small ditch before the next tuber arrives is necessary in order to avoid getting hit. This may be more difficult for mature adults as compared to kids!

For our tubing FUN, they had 4 WIDE snow tubing lanes to choose from. Each lane had a worker, ready and waiting to push you down the hill. It was our first time doing REAL outdoor snow tubing on a REAL snowtubing hill, so my kids were a bit nervous. The employees there were all very good with the kids and made sure they were comfortable. One employee in particular was really GREAT with my children. Scooter made sure my daughter felt comfortable and made sure to push her "slow" and "not spin" her on her first trip down the hill. She was a bit scared at first, but by her 3rd trip down the hill she was really enjoying herself & asking to go FAST and SPIN! She went back to SCOOTER every trip down the hill that day. We even went down the hill together (linking our arms/legs WHILE seated in our OWN tubes as instructed by staff). We had such a great time tubing that day. I would estimate that it took us about 5 minutes that day to complete a full cycle of getting on the tow line, getting into a snow tube lane, sliding down the hill and getting back onto the tow line! So, we probably got to go down the hill around 12 times during our 1 hour tubing session. As our tubing session came to an end, the kids were sad to go. They wished we had signed up for 2 hours instead!!

On our way out, we stopped in the "lodge" for some hot chocolate from the snack bar. The snack bar serves up items like hot chocolate, popcorn, bagged chips, bagged pretzels, meat sticks and pre-packaged candy. I'm not sure IF they served up any hot food as I did not see any that day. They also had a soda vending machine on location. The snack bar is basically a small stand in the middle of a very BIG and somewhat barren room with plastic dining tables and folding metal chairs. I'm not sure it qualifies as a "lodge". It was not quite what I was envisioning when I read online that they had a lodge. I was expecting a warm and welcoming Hallmark movie moment complete with with a wood burning fireplace, evergreen trees (real or fake) dotting the room, red & black plaid, Christmas & wildlife décor, comfortable couches and plush seating to warm yourself in. To be fair, this facility looks fairly NEW. I hope they do well & and slowly expand their snack bar menu & LODGE décor, while maintaining reasonable rates. I also hope they expand and offer some gift shop/souvenir items such as sweatshirts, t-shirts, plush animals for kids or Christmas tree ornaments.

Overall, we had a really great time at Valley's Edge Snow Tubing. I would HIGHLY recommend this activity IF you are within an hour drive of this location during the winter months. It is a ton of fun and very reasonably priced. Most staff were friendly and welcoming. Scooter was really great with the kids & deserves a shout out! He made our day! The only problem I encountered during our visit was with the staff at the end of the tow line. He was a little careless & ended up throwing my tow line, hitting ME in the top of the HEAD MULTIPLE times with the hard handle while disconnecting it. I don't know if this was accidental or on purpose, but it seems that this should be able to be prevented. I could only imagine IF a small child got hit in the head with that hard handle. Other than that, we left really happy that we had ventured out to Valley's Edge for the afternoon. I would definitely visit again IF in the area.

My wife found this place online and we were excited about how close it was.
The employees are all super kind and helpful and we had a great time tubing for about an hour or so.
Get there early, it seems as if the bigger crowds show up later in the evening.

This is a seasonal attraction but it doesn't need to be cold and snowy to go enjoy it. They make their own snow for the tubing slopes and have a lift cable that tows you to the top of the hill. If you get there right when they open you will have an hour or so before the crowd picks up, between 1pm and 4 pm the line slows and it can take up to 30 minutes to get back to the top. Fun day overall, an hour was enough for my elementary aged kids. 48 degrees the day we went and still had snow covered slopes without being uncomfortable.

Valleys Edge is a little out of the way, but fun for ages 4 and up. They have 7 snow tubing trails and a nice lodge to warm up in. The staff was a little overwhelmed the Saturday we were there, but it was the first warm day (above 25 degrees F) in more than 2 weeks. We had a group of 15 and got a discount. The wait in line to get on the trail was a little long (30-35 min.), but the trails were fast once you got going down the hill. We celebrated a birthday party and had plenty of room in the upper part of the lodge. All in all, it was a fun evening for our family. We had kids as young as 4 and adults as old as 70 and everyone wants to go back. Be patient on peak times and I would suggest eating and drinking before you arrive, the concessions are limited to just drinks. The parking lot was muddy, but it was due to warmer weather. New Paris is located :45 minutes West of Dayton, Ohio and is easy to get to.
