Signage for walking directions would help

Signposting from the carpark is appalling
Having parked in the postcode advised by the website as we had booked the 10 minute visit only to find no signage to where we were meant to go
We eventually found the gate and walked towards the mine but realised we would not make the time for our allotted time

The National Trust staff could not have been more helpful or informative on our 1.5 hour tour. Even offered to fill up our water bottles as we had arrived early.

Steve, Jenny and two others (I'm sorry I didn't note their names) made this the highlight of our week in Cornwall. We learnt much about the history of Levant. Seeing the beam engine in operation again was very special - even if I did rather monopolize the whole talk!

Very interesting Tin mine.

A very interesting visit to this historic tin mine. Excellent working beam engine. This National Trust property had very knowledgeable and enthusiastic volunteers. We combined this with Geevor mine just a walk away.

Great knowledgeable tour

We had John as our guide. Knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about mining history! Great tour to explain the local history, exploring the engine, shaft, and small part of the mine.
A few pictures or a gallery of what it was like in the mine would have been nice though.

A place which combines romance, tragedy and industry

If you're interested in mining in Cornwall this is somewhere you should go. The site itself is fascinating, and has the only steam winding engine still working and in its original house. If you book a tour you can see this working.

The surrounding environment is endlessly interesting, not just because of the sea and cliffs but because it is entirely covered with the remains of old mine workings. You can walk along the coast path to Botallack mine and beyond to Cape Cornwall, and in the other direction to Geevor, also very wort visiting.

Levant was the site of an awful tragedy in 1919 when the a link in the man engine failed resulting in the deaths of 31 miners and injuries to many more. It's a great place to remember just how hard and dangerous mining was in the 19th & early 20th century.

Fascinating and Gripping

Fantastic Tour and insight into Cornish Mining. I had two young boys aged 7 and 9 who lost concentration at the end (suitable for slightly older children possibly) but it was really fascinating to learn about the miles of tunnels and history of the Cornish Mining Heritage.

We are NT members so stumbled across the tour they offered whilst looking at things to do in the area. Easy online booking service on the morning we went. Our guide Ollie was excellent, extremely knowledgeable on all aspects of the mine. The tour lasted just over an hour and was very well organised. The history of the mine & the insight into the life of the miners was fascinating. Really enjoyed the steam engine & underground tunnel part. Parking was free at Geevor Tin Min about a 10 minute walk away. They had toilets, cafe & gift shop that were free to use there. Well worth a visit.
