Visited some family in the area and they had nothing but good things to say about this place and it certainly lived up to the hype. It had some very nice vendors with some great stuff.

Like a mini Reading Terminal market, still plenty large. And the eggs were fresher and cheaper than the supermarket!

Loved the historic building and all the local vendors. My husband spent 6 weeks in vin Lancaster as musical director for the Peoples Shakespeare Project. He had a studio a few blocks away and was able to walk to Central Market and buy fresh food to cook. This was a big pluscto his stay. There was a mix of trendy ethnic cooked foods to eat at nearby tables and then fresh produce and meats from local area farmers. Herbalist selling tinctures and medicinal blends, bulk tea, honey/jams, empanadas, pretzels, and some handcraft items to boot. Some Amish and Mennonite farmers as well as traditional family farms, some organic. There was limited seating indoors for takeout dining and public bathrooms. We like supporting local economies as much as possible and the meatsxwere much cheaper than back in NYC Farmers Markets.

Central Market has everything under the sun

Great place to visit while in Lancaster City. If you go on a Saturday, make sure you go early in the morning since it gets crowded later in the day. Many different types of venders which specialized in meats, fish, dairy, nuts, coffee, tea, flowers, pickles, desserts, cheese, crafts, etc. You name it...it's probably there. A little on the expensive side but it's part of the market experience. The building is a historic landmark, which is very interesting to look at while sitting and eating your treats. Definitely would recommend a visit.

1st time experience was not disappointing!

We have been going to Lancaster for years and this is the first time we went to the Market. Only discovered it through TripAdvisor. Nice place to walk around and shop. So many selections of good foods and merchandise. Almost everything homemade / handmade.
Bring shopping bags for your wonderful finds!!!

Fun little place, was surprised to see the variety - not just Amish cuisine. In fact, had the best Amish baked goods I’ve ever eaten - especially the pretzels 🥨 . Traveler warning - lunch services finishes early - many places were closing by 2:00 in the afternoon

So much food to pick from. I loved the indoor market. More so now that smaller businesses are surviving and can make still make it. Crowded but worth the look if your in the area. Vendors with ready to eat foods, fresh produce, meats and cheeses.

Really cool market with all kinds of different things! There is fresh produce, meats , cheeses , breads , awesome baked goods , and much more special foods you can’t find in regular places. Great place to grab a delicious lunch . I tried a hoagie and it was terrific . Got some fresh assorted mushrooms and made an awesome soup , also I loved the wild mushroom broth they sold. I got fresh horseradish they were making on spot. There is also crafts of all sorts. Definitely if you are in town you must check it out !

Fantastic food hall

A huge wonderful food hall with everything you could possibly want to eat. We were very impressed with the huge variety of foods and foodstuffs and how fresh everything was. Definitely worth it to walk around and check out every booth.
