Great views and quite challenging - 2 mile hike to get to Morte point but worth it in the end ... missed out on seeing any seals this time

Thoroughly enjoyed the walk from Combegate valley to Morte Point then along the coastal path to the beaches. We did this with our westie, 9yo and 13yo boys. Shunning view.

Great walk over varied terrain - grass fields, tracks, through some slightly overgrown areas (but not a problem), rock, and dome jagged rock options. Some climbs but not too long or too steep (quite steep, though!). Lots of wildlife when we went in July - butterflies, birds, and grey seals (super to see them bobbing around or basking on the rocks!). Took just over an hour to get round starting and finishing at the Mortehoe graveyard - and that was at the pace of a v small dog who likes to sniff a lot! Stunning coastal area.

Wednesday 22nd March 2023. Morte Point and Bull Point circular coastal walk. After starting off in Mortehoe car park the initial walk was on the access road to the Bull Point Lighthouse, which is a mix of pathed road before you reach an access gate, after which the rod is a private one leading up to the lighthouse (which is also accommodation). The lighthouse is interesting in itself but be careful as there are cliff edges that are unprotected. After passing Bull Point Lighthouse, I made my way along the coast to Morte Point. Slightly confusing signage, but stick to the coast to avoid being misdirected back to Mortehoe village early i.e. before you reach Morte Point. Once you reach Morte Point the views are stunning (as they are all along the route to be honest) but the path is a little more dangerous as you circumnavigate the rocking point, before rejoining the defined path back towards Woolacombe and Mortehoe village. For myself, a 2-hour 8klm walk was knackering, not due to the distance but because the elevation changes over that distance (i.e. 1,000 foot).

great walk , stunning views moderate walk i would say to the point , becarfull there was a few fledglings on the floor when we went past one didnt make it on the way back think the crows had picked it off. there was also adders and slow worms nearby aswell int he longer grass

The most challenging aspect of this trail was the steepness. With the exception of that, the Morte Point trail is a very scenic and enjoyable hike. The view at the summit is absolutely stunning!

Me and my girlfriend parked along woolacombe Bay (time limit of 3 hours!) and easily did the walk in 2-2.5 (including going off trail and searching for seals).
It can be fairly strenuous if you go via the hill (a walk through to the right if the road as you head towards morte Point - opposite a hotel car park I believe on a corner) or you can follow the road along the coast then enter the morte Point path by that way.
Well worth it - seals seem to be the furthest side!

Beautiful area with some fantastic walking. Not bad to get to though It's actually quite challenging walking the path further east. Really picturesque and stunning wonderful scenery. We saw some seals at low and mod tide on some rocks about 500m west of more point.

We walked from Mortehoe to Woolacombe . We walked out to Bull point and Morte Point - Wow ! Stunning coastal walk . Must be sure footed if you attempt this .

Hi. Where do you start this walk? Is it best to get a bus to Woolacombe and walk to Morte point, back to Mortehoe? I do not drive, so bus will be my transport. Or is it better to get a bus to Mortehoe, and walk to Morte point to Woolacombe? Thank you
