We parked in the Chesil beach car park and walked along the beach the followed the path though the fields a lovely walk then up to St Catherine Chapel the views are amazing from up there sat had a spot of lunch while taking the views in

Really interesting, the interior is well preserved considering although some of the windows have been given added protection from the wind. Externally it looks very different from the sea side to what it looks like from the village. It was a very hot day but once we had walked into the village and up to the Chapel we found ourselves quite exposed to the breezes and much cooler. The views from up by the Chapel are wonderful even on a hot and hazy day so they must be amazing on a really clear day.

It was very windy, raining and very cold, but a good experience. On a good day the
views would be stunning in all directions. I thought may be there would be some
artefacts in the building as services are held there on occasions. It must be a
wonderful atmosphere for the Christmas procession lit with candles. There are also
some very interesting barrows in walking distance and neolithic stones. Well worth
a visit.

An interesting village. Good cream teas. Well worth the walk to the chapel for the views. There are 2 routes. One is much easier than the other.

I found this place by chance during one of my hiking days. Discovering with pleasure that it was located close to my lodging, early in the morning I was able to climb up to the structure, it was a little over 6 o`clock, being able to admire a totally different panorama from the night before, a picture of warm colours shaded between the yellow and red of a sunrise bathed in a light mist.

We didn't attempt the walk from the village to the chapel ... it seemed quite a steep climb. but the chapel is an impressive landmark and can be seen from miles around

The climb up is fairly easy and the views are definitely worth it. I googled the history of the chapel and found little notes in the wishing holes which was charming.

The climb up from Abbotsbury was a lot easier than expected and on a good path.
The chapel is interesting but take care with the door catch not to get 'locked' inside. There were also many 'buzzing' insects inside so be aware.
The views from here are extensive. A lovely evening stroll.
The path on the seaward side is steeper and less clear and joins the path between the village and beach lower down. There were cows in the field to be crossed if heading to the beach.

A short climb from the village up to St Catherine's Chapel. Chapel is unused. Views from the chapel along the coast and local countryside make it well worth the climb. Parking for the village is adjacent to the Swann Inn.
