We had a very good lunch - well presented and the sandwiches were packed with ingredients - in my case prawns. Unusual interior, service can be on the slow side and as mentioned before - not cheap, but you do get a wholesome meal.

The food here is excellent, all freshly prepared and cooked using local produce. They don’t do fast food - they do real food! Lovely, friendly staff always happy to be flexible.

We had a lovely lunch very nicely presented and fresh . Would recommend but it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for. Service quite pedestrian considering not busy

I arrived at this cafe by chance after hitting my leg on a post. We asked for ice to deal with the injury and they kindly found some for us. We decided to sit down and buy cake. It came to £14.85 - for four cakes. We thought a pot of tea for me to get over my shock would be good. My son in law asked for a pot of tea… for three people to share. He was confused when they told him it would have to be three pots. The tea was for me but he thought his wife and my husband might want half a cup each while I was sitting, having my tea. He was charged £9! He’s a very gentle and polite person, and when he returned to our table he said he thought there had been an error in the bill. I limped up to the till and said we only wanted one pot of tea and there had been a misunderstanding. The assistant agreed to refund £6, however when my son in law went back he was told that he would not be refunded as the tea had already been made. (Water poured over the tea bag - one per small pot). It was a horrible experience I felt we had been misled. We won’t be going back.

Situated in a corner of the West Bay the place formerly known as Bridport’s Harbour that has long since been a destination in itself, Slader’s Yard is an extraordinary cultural behemoth, a giant barn in which cock sparrows chirp from every crevice, over two floors exhibitions of supremely atmospheric art (at the moment by the likes of Julian Bailey, Martin Brewster, Francis Hatch and David Atkins, displays of ceramics, crockery or just postcards in display cabinets in every spare space. And there’s even more than half decent Lin he’s and teas available. And one mustn’t forget the upmarket designer furniture.

Dropped in to see the art and wonderful furniture, and stayed for lunch. Had a really lovely lunch, wonderful Chunky Fish Stew and Griddled Croque Monsieur. Really friendly staff and a mixture of locals and visitors which gave the place a great feeling. Such a great space, very interesting exhibitions and very relaxed ambience.

A lovely lunch, wonderful fish pie and the plumpest scallops perfectly cooked. Noticed everyone else very happy too whether just having coffee or a steaming bowl of soup. Such a great place, interesting exhibitions and relaxed ambience.

We ate lunch at this interesting gallery and restaurant - the food was simple but excellent - reasonably priced, fresh and delicious seafood in generous portions. The ambience is relaxed and comfortable. Friendly waitresses and good service.

Hi, The ground floor, including the cafe and one of the galleries, is accessi ble. I am afraid the first floor has narrow steep stairs up to it. Disabled customers are welcome to park in our driveway while they are at Sladers Yard. Access to the building is across a gravel yard, but the gravel is quite thin and easily negotiable in a wheelchair. We will open the double doors and set up ramps to give you access to both sides of the ground floor. Let us know when you would like to come and we will make sure we are ready!
