This was harder to locate than anticipated for me... you have to drive through Charlton towards Wycheproof ... as you leave town you will see a street sign on your right... if you are not looking, this is not something you will notice.
Driving into the Weir there is plenty of parking... dirt road only, but in reasonable conditions for all cars ( and plenty of room for people pulling caravans). Whilst the weir is located here, there really is not much else on offer, so unless you come to see the weir... or you want to give a dog a run, or break from driving... I can't imagine most people stopping here.
BUT if you do get out and stop the river is quite beautiful. There is a photo opportunity here and whilst I was visiting there were some beautiful flowering gums.

I always like to stop at weir if I see one in my travels. Not a bad spot on the Avoca River. Worth a stop on way north
