Strange place. Expected something old but this was all relatively modern architecturally. And all rather run down and uncared for. Just seemed to be a trap for tourists with multiple snack bars selling ordinary fare. Yes, there is a famous religious icon at its heart but overall very disappointing. Walked round to "acclaimed" garden, walked up steps, took one look and walked off back to car. The sort of place a tourist bus can park easily and deposit a bus load for a couple of hours whilst they wander pointlessly... One to avoid.

No volveremos a hospedarnos aquí.

Paid parking very close to the santuario with a cafe . The buildings were impressive, as were the statues of previous priests that ran the place. The actual santuario was beautiful, with a very impressive ceiling, and we saw the black Madonna and Jesus.

Paradiesische, kleine Oase mit zauberhaftem Kloster, welche zum Verweilen einlädt. Wunderbar ruhig, stressfrei mit wenigen Touristen.

I write to say how disappointed I was by my visit to the monastery at Lluc last month. I had been in touch with the monastery regarding disability access and was very disappointed at how poor it was despite the information you gave.
I went with my partner on Thursday, September 21, 2023 by taxi. I am a wheelchair user with MS
Whilst the grounds were accessible my enough, the signage throughout the monastery complex was very poor, mainly monolingual in Spanish.
We went to the information desk and found that the staff were not as fluent in English as they might have been and were not able to give accurate information.
Sadly there was no wheelchair access into the chapel to see the statue of the Black Madonna, and this could have been made clear in the information provided prior to our visit.
It might be an idea for them to consider making a video/audio presentation for people who are unable to access the chapel-there was no evidence of this and we were certainly not directed to anything of this nature by the staff at the reception desk.
It would be perhaps useful to have an English-language guide book available at the reception desk and a fluent English speaker on the desk
Furthermore, there was no wheelchair access to the alleged botanic Garden and again this information could have been told to us prior to our visit.
Most disappointing was there was no wheelchair access to the museum. We managed to find a lift that went to the 1st floor. It was rather small and narrow.
There was no one around apart from a chambermaid who spoke little English but we explained we wanted to get into the museum… Twice she telephone someone in the museum explaining that we were there and wanted to gain access to the museum-but after 20 minutes nobody came so we abandoned the idea.
This was extremely bad service.
It seems that the monastery, despite claims that the monastery is friendly and accessible does not really welcome visitors with disabilities and makes no effort to make provision for them, to enable them to access everything that is possible.
I recognise it is an ancient building and a world Heritage site and they are limited in what they can do in terms of improving access to certain parts of the building.
However, it would not take much to improve the signage around the site in more than one language-after all it is a World Heritage Site and as such it should provide information in more than one language and make sure the signs are in more than one language and clear
It would not take much to explain how wheelchair users could access the museum if they wish to and perhaps have the admission booths for the museum at the bottom of the stairs, where this information could be given.
Finally, we acknowledge that there is a disabled toilet which is good-however it is badly configured. The wash basin is almost on top of the lavatory, giving limited room for people to manoeuvre in their wheelchairs. There is plenty of room to move the wash basin to the other side of the lavatory so that people are able to manoeuvre more easily and transfer more easily to the toilet. It would also be a good idea to have more than one wheelchair accessible toilet.
I hope that you will pass this information to the manager/chief monk for their attention and hope that they will act upon the things I have pointed out so that in future people with disabilities will not be so disenfranchised when they visit. The Catholic Church is a rich organisation and I'm sure they would have money to make the necessary changes to make the monastery more accessible to people with disabilities.
I look forward to a positive response and maybe next time I visit Majorca I may consider visiting the monastery again.

Visited here 2x on holiday in the 10 days we were away lovely peaceful place and friendly staff. The church was lovely got to light some candles in the church also. The cafeteria served lovely coffee and Home made cakes. Parking cost around €8 we were the couple hours not sure what it if there a hourly rate parking? You can pay by cash, coins or cards if need be. The gift shop has plenty off stuff to buy fairly cheap too.

How to get to Lluc monastery by public transport
HetMenneke
포스팅 59건
As a matter of fact, thinking about it, there should be a bus going from the train station in Inca as well up to Lluc. And maybe as well from Pollenca Old Town. Still more convenient to book it as a trip with a touroperator. When you stay in a hotel, they should have the TIB-timetable, probably you find it on the internet as well. As I live here I have my own car and never go by public transport.
