While it is interesting to see the building and the art exhibits on display; this is not the place to attend a concert. The auditorium's "orchestra" is divided into 3 sections; left, center and right. There are 4 support posts surrounding the center section. These posts block the view of many seats in both the left and right sections of the "orchestra". BUYER BEWARE! The facility identifies some of these "obstructed view" seats on their website, but there are many more "obstructed view" seats that are advertised (and sold) as "unobstructed".

We went into Carnegie Hall when we were in Lewisburg. It was a very nice place with several interesting artistic displays. It had some upcoming shows and art classes that I would be interested in if I lived in the area. It had a beautiful mosaic wall to the right of the main entrance.

IF you're in the mood to shake your soul - going to hear Buckwheat Zydeco and his bad will do the trick.
We went to a Friday night performance at 7:30 - and got there at 6:30 for pre-show snacks and drinks. The bar was manned by volunteers and featured Smooth Ambler whisky products. My wife had a nice White and I had a Bourbon. The Bourbon was enough to convince us that we were going on their tour on Saturday.
We had very good seats on Row J - and sipped the rest of our drinks as we waited for the start of the show. It was a slow arriving crowd - and they all seemed local - and seemed to know each other. The hall filled - and the show started.
And the hall shook as the band rocked with Zydeco songs - and quite a few of the audience danced and rocked also. The acoustics. are what you expect at a professional hall. The seats super comfy. The site lines great.
Since we got there so early - we got a great parking spot on the street right next to the hall. But - there is plenty of street parking nearby for an easy walk. BTW - the ticket prices are a bargain for the product you receive.
We're ready for their new season - and it's only 1:15 hours from our home.

We were in town so decided to hit it up. Nothing was going on but we did do a walkthrough. Had some nice art exhibits inside as well.

In great shape. Docent showed us around. Built in 1902 and it first was a woman’s college. Great local art on display here. It is one of 3 halls in the US named for Andrew Carnegie who 26,000 dollars which was 2.6 million in today’s terms. Citizens completed it by donating 10,000 more dollars. In great shape. Plays are held here today as well as adult ed programs.

We were passing through Lewisburg in August, and my husband (who always buys the local paper) noticed that The Vienna Boys Choir would be coming in October. We bought tickets for only $38 per person, and returned for this amazing performance.
The facility itself is a large, beautiful, old structure housing not only the theatre, but also a museum and lots of classrooms. On your first visit, arrive early to explore and read the rich history.
The theatre itself is small by big city standards, with seating for 420 people. I like the size because every seat is a good one.
BTW, We had occasion to phone twice, and both times a live person readily answered the line, and helped us.

Carnegie Hall! We were lucky enough to be passing through and made time to stop and visit. There is so much history within these walls! There is an art gallery downstairs, the main attractions with musical relics on the main floor, and all of the history of the building and how Carnegie Hall came about upstairs. A live band playing on the lawn outside provided a whole new experience!

Though this Carnegie Hall might not be located in NYC, I can now truthfully say I sang at Carnegie Hall. (Carnegie built three in the U.S. and who knew one was in Lewisburg, WV?) The woman at the front desk was quite accommodating, so I just headed up and sang to my audience of two (the woman and my husband). However, this lovely building has so much more to offer to be honest. There is a small portion of the building dedicated to a West Virginia music museum, there are several rooms that are art galleries, and it has lots of classroom space for art classes and other activities. I'm glad I got to tour a building that was built by Carnegie, and I must say, the acoustics are great in the auditorium!

My husband and I attended the Pokey Lafarge concert at Carnegie Hall on Friday night in Lewisburg. The concert was lively and entertaining. We thank CH for bringing him and his band there. The auditorium was warm and the sound was good; although, a little loud at times. We had seats with a good view of the stage. One thing I wish the theater would bring back is the Mainstage Lounge where you could have some wine and appetizers before the show and during the intermission. Now, you have to go outside into another building. So we have stopped going because of that reason. Please bring it back to the original location. It was always so fun and festive!
