Arrived here at 10:00am to watch Rangers v Hearts semi final. We had tickets for the game at Hampden in Glasgow but my wife surprised me with a trip to NYC for my 60th birthday. So it's an early breakfast and a subway here to watch the Bears.
It was definitely my kind of bar. Felt at home right away and the service from the bar staff was excellent. Decent selection of beers and the atmosphere was good. The NYC Marathon Runners were going past the window and bands were playing in the street.
Would like to see the place at night but maybe another time.

Went in last Saturday morning to watch Rangers v St Mirren at the American Bar. Good beers, good service, good crowd, good result.

Coming back from a late NY Yankees night game, my friend and I were looking to grab a drink before calling it a day. Most places were closed, but American Trash was going strong after midnight. We grabbed some cold draft beers, played skeet ball and shot pool. We chatted with an eclectic mix of people in their 20's - 50's with everyone getting along and no pretenses. It was a blast and one of the most fun bars I've been in. On top of it, the bartenders added to the cool vibe and atmosphere.

Si vous êtes amateur de Blues/rock cette ancien établissement populaire propose tous les mercredi soir un un jam session ou tous les musiciens peuvent jouer ensemble entre 21h et 23h ainsi que des prestations de different groupe les samedi. Le service est joyeux, coloré et l'ambiance y est bonne. Les locaux se réunissent pour jouer au billard, écouter de la musique ou bien regarder un match sur l'un des nombreux écrans dans une déco chargé de drôle d'histoire. Parfois bruyant mais sympathiques soirées !

Unable to sleep, I went for a short walk and stopped at American Trash three nights ago at 1 o'clock. The place was filled with happy people; the TVs were blaring; and the pool tables were in full use.
I had a very good time while I drank one beer, and then went home and slept like a baby.

Stopped here a little before midnight on a Saturday, for a night cap and some live music after dinner in the area. I grew up playin' in places like this in the 80's and 90's so it's my kind of place. Only had drinks....good and not too pricy. It's a dive bar and what you'd expect....even had a guy sleeping in a booth ;). Doorman (bouncer?) was friendly and fun, barman was attentive. Music was so so but live, that's a plus! No dance floor to speak off but I imagine you can do your thing where you're standing/sitting.
Go it's a good fun, casual, place.

The bartenders are super cool,theres usually live bands,the food there is typical bar food (burgers fries calamari etc) and the kitchen closes at 12am,i asked for food later than that and the bartender told me theres a diner next door,u can go order and bring your food here. How cool is that?!!!!
