This is a beautiful place to camp overnight. We had a peaceful time. Our camp site was so clean. Thank you to the camp hosts for doing such a great job! The trail along the Santa Clara River is serene.

First off the website says $6 but they charge $8 for a day pass. When we asked why the guy in the booth just said thats what it was, no explanation. Secondly the employees here are all extremely rude .The male campground host is extremely rude and needs to get a life. Yelling at us for stopping in the camping area when the campground was completely empty. It's a long drive from st. George and a waste of money to have to pay to deal with employees who can't carry on a conversation.

I'm a Washington County local. I grew up camping in Whipple and Pine Valley as a kid and continued to do so into my adult years. It's always been one of my very favorite places to stay and spend my time. However, there's a new sheriff in town and they are ruining camping in Pine Valley. I believe it's American Land & Leisure, and from what I've experienced so far, they are the kinds of people who have done nothing important with their lives, and they are bitter about it. Because they are bitter about it, it's YOUR fault. They've been given a tiny bit of power and let me (and them) tell you, they'll use it (and abuse it). Little-by-little, it's been getting worse and worse, but this year, I've had it. There is a slug up there named George. He must have gotten fired from his local HOA for being too abusive, which says a lot. We were in Mitt Moody 6, which is where we usually stay, and have stayed, for YEARS. We were there the weekend of September 23rd - 25th (2022). A character at the front guard station immediately informed me that if we had more than 4 tents, we'd be asked to leave, and some people who were up there before us were playing music, laughing too loud, and having too much fun. So they called the sheriff on them and had them kicked out. What happened to, "Hello, can I help you?" Why did we start off with a rigid scolding before anything else? He informed me, after a condescending conversation, that he and his wife are from Minnesota. I was unimpressed with them and their annoying accent.
Enter: George
As we set up our 4 tents, another fat slob named George decided to take matters into his own hands even though he wasn't the camp host for that designated area. George was simultaneously managing dogs running off-leash, a child's dirt bike that was on the asphalt instead of on the back of someone's Sprinter, cars that were parked "too diagonally," as well as trying to manage several chins connected to his fat neck. It seems that the current mission of American Land & Leisure is to lay down as many rules as possible, to claim that the parking lots are theirs, when I'm pretty sure the tax-payers are the ones who really own them, and to make camping as unrelaxing and unfun as possible. Pine Valley is in desperate need of new management. Absolutely the worst crew I've ever seen. Garbage.

Tucked away in a beautiful valley. The name says it all. Can’t believe it took us this long to venture into this part of the world.

A wonderful place to escape to.Just sit back and relax under clean fresh air from the pine trees and if you fish the fishing hole has abundant amount of brown rainbows just waiting.

Daytime/nighttime temperatures were the mid 70s/mid 50s while we were there. Pleasant four night, three day escape from our hot southern Nevada home.
Beautiful reservoir offered those fishing with a rainbow & tiger trout stocked experience.
We RV camped in the Dean Gardener loop (site 20) of Pine Valley Campground. Nice fire pit, concrete picnic table & camping stove stand. Driveway fairly level. Good sun exposure for our roof top solar panel.
Make sure you bring supplies as not much available close-by, with gas and groceries a 30 minute drive away in Veyo.
Beautiful area that greatly exceeded our expectations.

We love the Pine Valley Recreation Area and you will too if your reservation matches the campground rules on arrival.
We had a party of 6 (Dean Gardener D09, maximum occupants 8) reserved through the rec.gov website. AFTER setting up our 4 tents the camp hosts said we had too many tents. No where on the rec.gov website specify how many tents are allowed on site. The MALE camp host wouldn't level with us. We asked how to make this right and he said you can't stay here with that many tents. It was too late in the evening to even try and look for another campground, let alone two spots, in a place that required reservations or even first come first serve sites. So we packed up our gear and left.
To make this right, the reservation system should state the latest revision of the campground rules. In this day and age of technology it should be easy to do that. If the campgrounds use a reservation system why can't the campground rules be stated on that system? This was a very disappointing experience. Thanks for letting us down rec.gov and Pine Valley Recreation Area.

We wanted to get away from the heat. This was perfect! Such a pretty area and much cooler than anything around. It was really nice to be out in the trees and nature. Southern Utah has so much to do.

Our site was directly across from the outhouse and the stench was awful. There’s also no shade, so we went to sit under a tree near our site and there was SO MUCH dog poop under it that you can tell has never been cleaned up because some of it was practically petrified. Also if you want to cool down in the lake you can’t really swim in the area we went to at least.
One of the male camp hosts was kind of rude in Crackfoot, but one of the ladies was on top of stuff. Also there was a cow in our campsite and the guy told us to throw rocks at it

A great place to camp!
It is a great place to camp. The sites are easily accessible and have good tent pads, tables, fire pits and even tables for your propane stoves.
The camp hosts were very helpful. We stayed on the ebinezer loop. Linda and her husband work hard to keep the restrooms and campground clean.
We loved it so much that we are headed back tomorrow. :)

The lake is small and stocked with trout. It was shoulder to shoulder when I was there. I was wishing I had brought my buggy whip to fish the small creek below

Did not camp while there but the ones nearest the resevoir looked very nice. Some are near the water some aren't depends what you like. Away from the water seemed less noisy.

There's no showers most of the campers had self contained campers and trailers. Restrooms are nice not the flush kind.

Yes there are many camping spots available. I saw everything from tents to large camping trailers. Need to make a reservation for camping spots.

They started charging $5 a car just to drive in. No state or federal passes accepted.
