Colonnata is a very small village. Negative has 2 things, parking few and so you have to stop cars too far and the country itself is really small. Positive has the lard that with the focaccia is super and the landscape is beautiful.

I was curious to visit this village famous for its lard. The town is particular, small, perched in the middle of the marble quarries. Definitely worth a visit. The shuttle that takes you to the center from the car park under the town is excellent. It can also be done on foot as the distance is approximately 900 m. It is mandatory to purchase their delight "lardo di colonnata".

A beautiful village nestled among the Carrara quarries, many small streets where you can discover small shops and small artisans ready to welcome you.
If you go there you can't help but buy the Colonnata lardo, a local institution.
I recommend taking a complete tour of the village, because it's really worth it and if you manage to eat in a little place, well then you've won!!

I was struck by the quarries, I had never seen them up close, behind a lot of history and effort, not to mention the food, very good lard eaten by Mafalda, a team of professionals excellent tasting of typical products and professionalism to sell. I will definitely return.

Magnificent place near the quarries, the shuttle idea is good, but the car park where you leave your car is completely dark. The road from the car park to the town could also be lit a little, we walked along it using the light from the telephone. Overview but abandoned. In general it seems like a country without an administration.

Beautiful town... super friendly and organised, starting with the shuttle buses that take you up and down from the car park for free... with good and kind drivers... a beautiful ride in a fairy-tale village... as fairy-tale as the food you eat... prices everywhere are more than honest! !!!

Per le visite alle cave meglio chiedere ai punti informazione in luogo , comunque il periodo climatico non è dei migliori.
